Putting together a Wild Bunch pistol today. Maybe this year I'll actually go to a shoot. A beater S70 Colt I'm fitting some vintage parts to (wide spur hammer, small thumb safety, smooth msh with lanyard loop), it should be a reasonable facsimile. Still need a long trigger, short spur grip safety, some nicer DD wood and I'll re-shape the front sight into a half moon and tune it with some shooting.

Was it hard re-shaping the front sight to half-moon?
And also, will the short wide-spur hammer and short tang grip safety would still give hammer bite when firing?

Wasn't too bad, i used a mini file after I wrapped the slide to protect it from slips. As for hammer bite, honestly its never been an issue for me.

How are those grips? I was looking at those on the site but not sure how grippy they are. My hands are always dry (thanks Calgary air!) and always need grippy grips.

They are a little on the smooth side, I'm going to purchase a set of VZ grips for better control.......

This is just about perfect to me....I mean, horrible. You should probably sell it at a discount for the mangled sight

I bought this Nighthawk Custom GRP off the EE in 2009 and sold it in 2011, Saw it pop up again a few weeks ago and couldn't resist getting it back again. Somewhere in the past five years the fixed sights were replaced with adjustable Novaks. I'm OK with that but preferred the original fixed sights. Nice to have it back again!
