Thought it about time I posted this one. A 1968 mfg Colt Government 1911A1 .45ACP that I've owned for many years.

Yes, I have the proper factory grips for it, too. Unfortunately, it came with the "noob scratch" when I bought it back in the day.....

So, apparently this is what Photophucket does to your pics if you don't pay their ransom....

After cleaning it looks amazing!

Found a new top end yet again for my old Springfield, since I had when I was 17, now 35. I converted it to 22LR, since picking up a newer Springfield.

My Old Springfield Loaded 1911 A1 Xmas gift from Pops. That I spent about $700 back in the day on STI parts, 250$ for install and tuning ( Just on the frame ) Thing must had at least 4 tops ends on it. From the stock Springfield, Caspian, Colt, Norc, GSG and now CW Accessories. CW suits it the best now. I mean this gun been blued, orange, now polished. Just shows you how much money you spend on a gun over the years. I might get 600$ for it, but probably wasted 3X more on it.

Then the replacement Springfield MC Operator, I picked up for 450$. Just gonna find the nice Springfield Logo grips, and change out the ILS mainspring. I since put adjustable rear sight on it.

Then I got a SAM 9mm 1911 Military Enhanced in a Hera Arms CPE Kit.

This impulse buy has turned out to be my favorite 1911 of all time. Springfield Armory Loaded ca. 2005. CGN seller said it was his most accurate 1911 and after shooting it a couple times, I can truthfully say this is also my most accurate 1911, although I haven't shot my Kimber Stainless Target 2 yet. My Ruger SR1911 and Kotanko customed Norinco two tone Sport are close but not as accurate.

Frame to slide fit as well as barrel to slide lock up are bank vault tight, as in zero clearance, zero movement. This Springfield loves my homecast Lee tumble lube 230 grain round nose molded from wheel weights loaded over 4.8 grn Titegroup. 3 inch 5-shot groups at 15 meters handheld standing. Considering my very average skills or lack of it, that accuracy is outstanding. Reliability has been 100% with my reloads and all brands of mags from Norinco to McCormicks and MecGars.

I got it barely broken in with 2,000 plus rounds.

I think I stole it, honestly, for the price of $760 shipped insured with two quality mags.

Just got this today in the mail:
Remington 1911 R1 Limited 9mm by Garret Mannerow, on Flickr
https://flic.kr/p/2hTzDhi
It's a Remington 1911 R1 Limited chambered in 9mm, and it's the very first firearm I have ever purchased, since getting my RPAL last week. I have never shot a 9mm 1911 before, but I have shot a couple of 45's and other 9mm pistols, so I'm super excited to give it a try at the range. Overall the fit and finish is very nice. I'm a big fan of matte black anything :D
