It is indeed Grey Fox. He and Miss Mary Spencer had a great time shooting up the range.

I would not have bought it unless it was exceptional. I am very impressed with it so far. One of our local shops has brought in ~ 18 of them so far, in groups of 6. I've handled quite a few of them. Haven't seen one yet that I wouldn't have bought. They've all sold but the display model. It will likely be gone too by tomorrow.

Will likely give mine a run this week & post a report on the handgun discussion page about it after I do.

Here it is...the Remington R1!!! When I read Remington was again making a 1911 I had to order one. Awesome pistol for the money and shoots great. BTW, the magazine in my pics are not Remington.

Same here - I'd love a UMC! Not shot the R1 yet and probably won't for a while as I have much work to do over the next while. It does feel solid and surprisingly tight. Beautiful finish and nice looking grips. I love the classic 1911 look. The rear sight is kind of tall so that could take some getting used too. The trigger is nothing to speak of but that's expected. My gunsmith will smooth it out and make it crisp. Once you have one done, well...

Yes, the sights look quite tall and meaty, that should be a pretty good gun for hard use.
