Here is my new storage solution and attempt at better photography.

Tried my 50mm lens and seems to get better results, I should have used it before.

For storage of the pistols I decided to go with the reproduction factory boxes from protectagun. They are very cheap, stackable, durable, and the double wax paper keeps the oil on the pistols. They also have a cool authentic look. I put a couple layers of wax paper under the gun, and usually the mag sits between two layers of paper so it can't damage the gun sliding around.

Let me know what you guys think!!

That's awesome Steve! I'm going to have to order some of those. Also when taking pictures I find that a larger aperture (like F16) makes a world of difference for detail. Depending on your lens and where you find the sweet spot. Your lighting looks great btw!

Thanks Danny. Still working on the pics, next gun I will try to take better pics of all of them. The boxes are super cheap, I e-mailed protecta-gun.com last week with what I wanted, friday a box showed up at my door, I got 5 boxes and a roll of the double wax paper with an invoice attached for $35 shipping included.

The boxes are often sold as "original" in the U.S. with phony stamps, and often containing carefully refinished "never issued" 1911A1's.

P.S. I think you still need to dig yours out and take updated photos! Would be cool if their was a site like coltautos.com in Canada for people to upload pics of their G.I.'s

Any of you nutz recognize this Springfield? I bought it about a year ago on the ee, and I believe the guy I bought it from got it on CGN as well. I've torn it apart about 100 times and changed the grips as many, but its as I bought it (except for the thousands of rounds I've put through it). Its a great pistol, just kinda curious why it was sold a couple times. The guy I bought it from was at least the second owner.
