I'm open to an education, and that sir is one damn fine slab of iron... and I can see the family resemblance. But would this be referred to as a .30cal chambered 1911, a 1911 variant or is it something else altogether? Wish I had one too incidentally:D
 
Hi incorrigible,
This was designed by gentlemen named Harry Sanford back in the 1970s. It was designed to shoot the M1 .30 carbine round. (first successful self-loading .30 carbine pistol) Similar to the 1911 designed by Browning.
If you see one, buy it. Not too many around.
 
My Norc 1911. I had posted these pics in another thread, but figured I would share them here also. My first 1911, the time seemed right as we are approaching 2011. It is the M1911A1 sport two tone. I added the Hogue grips.

My series 80 Commander, gently modified with King's and Brown bits. Holster is an Alessi IWB. I desperately need to get an OEM guide and plunger in this pistol, the extended guide rod make me angry and sad.
