One of my biggest regrets with the possible looming ban is not obtaining a few WW2 era pistols such as a 1911 and a Luger.

You and me both. I’m sitting here drooling over these 1911’s but I just didn’t have the funds pre-ban.

While I really enjoyed my WWII 1911 and Inglis pistol collection, which i improved and expanded over the years, I'm actually glad I sold them all when I did. I had a lot of $ tied in them and now those pistols have no cash value as they can never be resold.

I made a decision to only keep the firearms I actually shoot and sell off the remainder of the collection

Here's all my working John Browning designs. You'll notice a Star PD and a HiPower in there too. Also have 5 frames I'm building projects on, 2 commanders and 3 gm's. - dan

Are there any retailers selling slides and barrels? I'm having a hard time tracking parts down but it's my first attempt at finding 1911 slides, barrels, etc.

It's been suggested I watch the EE for used stuff...

There is stuff on the ee, intermittently. Brownells is always good too. Numrich has simple stuff as well. - dan
