1911's Pics Thread

I don't know why Browning made their 1911 .22 a scaled down version. Just not as desirable in my books. I may have to get me a stainless SR1911 though.

+1 - agreed. Wish they'd come out with a full size 1911A-1 in .22 lr or even a 100 yr anniversary model in good ole .45ACP.

Got an adjustable aluminum trigger to go in it & maybe dress her up with some double diamond pepper laminate stocks & new grip screws.

Hope to give her a test drive in the next few days, too. Our balmy +7C daytime temps should hold out for the next few days for a trip to the range.

My new grips just arrived. Yes, I know it's not a Springfield, and no, I'm not trying to make a replica of a Springfield, I just liked the design of the grip and the wood grain.

They were on sale for $25. $10 for shipping to my door from Springfield Armories.

I'm absolutely in love. It shoots like a dream! I never thought I'd be able to like a blued gun so much but the finish on this thing makes me want to lick it. Actually, I shouldn't put it that way because it implies that I haven't...

They feel pretty comfy, at least for my hands.

A glimpse of the past...last week, I have received this second Colt WW2 Repro:

I'll be putting up some vintage small parts, most of them are worn and I'll have it reparkerized.

With a Carbonia WWI Repro:

my new TRP just came in this month...hope to test it out soon. Everything I will ever need in a 1911...I swapped out the full length guide rod and plug for a standard GI one. The slide to frame fit is awesome!

Here's a recent acquisition Colt O1911A1 World War II Reproduction, which I have replaced some small parts (trigger, hammer, msh) with vintage USGI ones that I had them reparked.

I have yet to look for the correct thumb safety and slide stop(with correct checkerings).

I had also replaced the stock mim extractor with a milled vintage one.

slapped in a blued mag from a WWI repro...

Very nice!
Had one in my hands several years ago and regret not buying it.....never been able to find one since...
They are beautiful pistols!
