1976 vintage 336 in 30-30 with 2.5-8X ScopeChief VI
1979 vintage 1895 in 45-70 with 1-4X Leupold

now, I'd like to find an 1894 in 25-20.....
 
Like the straight grips too. But I prefer shooting pistol grip Marlin rifles :confused: Anywaty I have a straight grip model 1895 45-70 and a nice little s.g. 1894 what I bought from Rembo acutually :)

Salty, you know this but that 1894 is not your average Marlin 44 Mag...it's an "1894 Sporter" model, less than 1500 of them built in 1973.....21" barrel, short mag tube, dovetailed front site......not many of those around.....

can you put up a pic for us?...I'm sure lots of guys have never heard of them , let alone have seen one...
 
I don't have a picture of it Rembo - and have camera issues right now. I will get it done one of these days somehow :confused:

The Winchester white boxes work great in mine. I found 3 boxes today for $16 a box. Only $2 more a box than the 22 mag ammo I bought today :rolleyes:
