I likey, I likey. Was at the indoor range yesterday doing some PPC practice. We finished up early and I decided to try out my Valtro for the first time.
Thank God I asked the counter guy for some slugs. I've never shot slugs and was always under the impression that the recoil was abominal. Anyhow, I mentioned to him that I was only taking one box of 5 slugs because I had some #5 shotshells I wanted to run thru it afterwards. He almost had a heart attack. Supposedly the lead balls splatter everywhere and blow out lighting, among other things. Again, thank God I talked to him about it. Anyone who knows Max at VSP knows that the last thing you wanna do is set him off on a rant

It's a pleasure to shoot this thing. Pumping it is a breeze and the ghost sights are fun as all hell & easy to use. I thought the recoil would be intimidating to the point of considering adding a rubber recoil pad, but it's not at all bad. I was only shooting 2-3/4" shells, mind you. But not reduced loads. Dying to try 3" rounds.
Does anybody think it's worth stoking this thing with 3" slugs or SSG's? Is the extra ooomph & recoil even worth it?
Two thumbs up from Siskel & Eibert
