I likey, I likey. Was at the indoor range yesterday doing some PPC practice. We finished up early and I decided to try out my Valtro for the first time.

Thank God I asked the counter guy for some slugs. I've never shot slugs and was always under the impression that the recoil was abominal. Anyhow, I mentioned to him that I was only taking one box of 5 slugs because I had some #5 shotshells I wanted to run thru it afterwards. He almost had a heart attack. Supposedly the lead balls splatter everywhere and blow out lighting, among other things. Again, thank God I talked to him about it. Anyone who knows Max at VSP knows that the last thing you wanna do is set him off on a rant :p :p

It's a pleasure to shoot this thing. Pumping it is a breeze and the ghost sights are fun as all hell & easy to use. I thought the recoil would be intimidating to the point of considering adding a rubber recoil pad, but it's not at all bad. I was only shooting 2-3/4" shells, mind you. But not reduced loads. Dying to try 3" rounds.

Does anybody think it's worth stoking this thing with 3" slugs or SSG's? Is the extra ooomph & recoil even worth it?

Two thumbs up from Siskel & Eibert ;)

Try some Federal Classics 1-1/4 oz, it's really fun! - the recoil is pretty smoking though, I had good accuracy with these slugs minute of pie plate, and you know you've fired something. I thought of getting one, I think the short barreled ones just look wrong, do you have the pistol grip stock or the conventional stock, do you have the ported version or the unported version, the chokes are screw in? :)

I've been considering one of these as well, but no one carries them locally, so I won't get the opportunity to check one out personally.

The reason I'm looking at a PM5 is because I do a lot of ATV riding in the back country, and I'd like to take a shotgun along for defensive purposes. Of course, you cannot carry a loaded firearm on an ATV, so I thought the magazine might be a realistic way to comply with the law yet still have a snowballs chance in h*ll of getting it loaded quickly if the need ever arises.

For those of you that own one, what is your opinion? Can the PM5 be made ready to fire quickly and easily?

I love my PM5 plus the value of the firearm is skyrocketing down south selling from $1200us up to $1450.

Mag changes are quick and easy. 7 rounds loaded in what 1-2 seconds. But like anything practice makes perfect.

The best part about the PM5 is the looks you get, and when people ask what calibre it is and you say 12g their jaws drop.
Its my SHTF collector piece. And one serious street sweeper.

Nisser hit it on the head, pretty well. Though I didn't buy it as an investment (too damn stoopid to sell anything I buy:p).

I must admit that mag swap speed isn't exactly stellar for me just yet. Alot of fumbling etc. Hoping to practice so's to be able to pull a swap off within a second or two.

Fat Tony, lookysee.

Shootemup, your wish is my command. Nisser has a twin, I'm sure he'll post pics as well.

Yup, 14". I bought it from gunmanquebec at the March 7 Gun Show.
And I just received 2 spare mags from Ellwood Epps (at the amazing, one-time only rock-bottom giveaway price of $95/ea.

Not a put-down of Ellwood, these mags are just plain expensive

Thanks bud, we aim to please....:D

The PM5 Delselin's selling is a 20" version and no ghost ring. 20" bbl is good if you wanna convert to a folder or go hunting with it, but it's a shame about the lack of rear sight.
In any case, still an amazing deal considering the ridiculous prices they're going for in the states :p

had a chance to put a couple through peter's quality shotty. the action is very smooth the butt is rounded and the impact doesnt feel as "digging in" as my 18" Grizzly mag. very nice over all finish. sights seemed to go a little high but that could be me. I think we need to do a side by side comparison next time.

i have handled these shotguns and they seem very light . i like the idea of a mag feed shotgun but i think a smaller mag would make more sense in the bush for deer or small game as it would not be hanging up on brush.that and the limits on the shell numbers in the gun when hunting. i realize you fellows in grizzly country would have other ideas about mag capacity.
