200 Yard Savage BTVS 22lr, CCI Stingers first attempt

Back again to day, light wind (4-6KM/hr from the west, slight hold to the right but good groups at 200. Just clays, no paper.

I never measured the snow imprints but i am guessing 8" groups. This is at 200 yards...

Are you still using a 3-9 scope? If so you're doing great. A scope in the24x range will give a more precise aiming point.

A little off topic, but many here might be interested: Is anyone finding reasonable accuracy with any high-velocity (hypersonic) 22LR velocity beyond 100m?

I'm curious because I've had great accuracy with Fiocchi HV at 100m. But I'm above 5000', so I wonder if they're possibly still supersonic at that range.

No problem hitting my "small" gong 100% at 185m with CCI Minimags, but I haven't tried checking paper groups with them at that range. That's next on my to-do list.

Pick the ammo that shoots the best groups at 50m, and 100m, not the ammo that shoots the flattest.

Try some CCI Standard Velocity and I bet you get better groups, mind you a bit more holdover may be necessary.

My anschutz will shoot 3/4 inch at 100 with RWS Target ammo. I could also hit the turkeys at 385m regularly... Pretty cool to fire the shot then have enough time to look through the spotting scope to watch the impact...

Great Post, Great Comments, Great Calibre...I've always done 100 yds Max. With 22 L.R. I'm Gonna Try 200 when it warms up.
