My Mulie makes me Smile

Well, I was chasing into the coulie for a 5x5 whitetail I saw head in here, but I found the recipient for my Southern Alberta Antlered Mule Deer tag. The shot was 444 yds (lasered). My buddy called the range, and I dropped to use the shooting sticks. He stopped on the side of the coulie, and I used the 400yd hash in my Burris 3-9 fullfield w/ ball. plex. The first shot went high (about 4 inches under my 300yd hash, but he windage was perfect) The buck moved maybe 5 steps and stopped broadside again. This time I held the 300yd hash bottom of high shoulder. The 168 TSX out of my 300 WSM took his heart out and broke the onside shoulder. He went maybe 10yds and started rolling for the bottom of the coulie. Lucky me (and my buddy) he hung up about 150ft from the top. It was Nov.23 and about -25 c. :D

...What I have put in the freezer so far this year......

I started out with this fella, he was on a hill, late in the day, and calling me. Yup I definatley heard him calling. Shot him in the neck with a 180gr Nosler Ballistic tip

Then I headed off for Mullie season and got this fella. Another neck shot, this time with a 250gr Hornady SP IT

Then along came my second White Tail. This fella drop to a shingle shot to the neck with a 250gr Sierra HPBT(M).

Then it was off to the local CWD Zone here to do our part in stopping the spread of said sickness. This is at the end of our day, and this is our truck of carnage. There are 9 of them in there, all taken by two shooters.

My hunting partner and his Mullie

All the deer in these photo's, minus acouple in the truck and my partners, were shot at ranges farther than 650 yards. All ranges have been logged and every range was verified by our guide with a lazer range finder before the shot was made.

This is what I do my long range hunting with.

...... 8.6 x 72mm SDM ...... Reach out and touch something

Hey rem338win, nice muley buck! I got mine the exact same day as you in WMU 156. Brrrrrrrr...it was cold:p Pics are up on a different thread in this forum. Nice shot:cool: My shot was between 350 and 400 yds with my .270 win. I only had time for an offhand shot. Didn't hit the deer as well as I would have liked in a perfect world, but with a bit of tracking I got him anyway, which put a smile on this eastern boy's face:D

Those coulies are the coolest place ever! Congrats again!

2006 St.Lazare Mb

Midafternoon sat down to have a rest, realy nice opening and a long bottle neck bush exting out of the valley, looked like a good place to raddle&call .Rattled for 2 or 3 min put the antlers down, started pouring some tea , saw silhouette of deer sneeking through the bush about 200 yards away, put the tea down rattled some more the deer came running full tilt right towards me i droped the antlers and in a hury tried to find him in the scope.By now he was only 100yards and closeing in on me.looked at him running at me about 70 yards now .Made the misstake of looking at the antlers,And Now Panicing weather to shoot or not .I was not sure if he was going to stop or just run over me .At 35 yards and crosshairs on his chest i just pulled very fast and tried to get out of the way incase i had missed. This fellow almost had me on the run! He droped at about 20 yards! thanks to the .300WM!!

My buddy shot this deer after the guy he was hunting with refused to shoot it.

I have rough scored this rack and my score is likely within an inch of the final official score.

Anyone care to take a guess at the gross score on this?
:)
