2010 PGW Defence Technologies Inc. Manitoba F Class Rifle Championship

Any updates Les if we are a go or not.

Bob, I'm still waiting and hoping for the best. At this point I'm starting to lose my optimism. We are sitting at 25 entries and I'm only aware of a small handful of others who have said they will have their registration in to me by the 15th. Unless a bunch of last minute entries arrive that I don't anticipate, it's extremely unlikely that the match will proceed in it's current format.

The organizing committee is meeting on the 17th of April and we'll be making an announcement shortly afterwards about whether or not the match is going ahead.

+1

I just sent my registration information and match fee electronically in seconds: to dlmuir@mts.net

If you have seconds, then there's no excuse to miss out on what is going to be a great event and a chance to win A PGW Defence Technology Inc. Coyote Tactical .308 rifle complete with transit case and accessories among other great prizes.

Lets make it happen people!

I would for go the free lunch and golf shirt if that is what it takes to hold the shoot with lower numbers to cover the costs Les.

Just thinking how we can go with fewer numbers if needed.

Howsa about cancelling the cash prizes, and givng out some cheap wood? I want the shirt!

Guys, I suspect that either enough people will sign up for the Match as Les has planned it, or they won't. And if they won't come, I suspect there is little or nothing that can be done about it. Lowering the cost of the match, say by $50 to $300, is not very likely to pick up any more people.

Les made a decision about what sort of match to offer - a relatively pricey, absolutely first-rate show (and I think he made a good choice). Now we have to see whether it'll sell or not. Basically all that we can do between now and 15-Apr is to sit and worry about whether or not we'll see 40 people register for the match (and/or sweat bullets, and bug^H^H^Hinform all of our shooting friends about this match).

Here's hoping to a "go" for 15-Apr.....

OK ,Does anyone know of some clubs, driving distance, south of the border from Winterpeg that perhaps we could email them and encourage some US participation??
Just a passing thought.

Gord, we've looked into US participation. By a twist of bad luck North Dakota is hosting their state long range championship the same weekend so no takers from there. We tried to spread the word at the US nationals and the match bulletin is posted on a bunch of US shooting sites. So far not a single enquiry or expression of interest.

I sure hope people get it in gear and register, I was looking forward to the food, shirt and portapotties at the firing line. Plus I want to kick some interprovincial butt.:p

Maybe we should use this match as part of the results needed for qualification to Ian's Canadian Team to Raton in 2013? It's as good a place as any.
Cheers, Glen

Things that make you go HMMMM...
If this match is used as a qualifier, would that override the low registration numbers? HMMMM...

The short answer is NO. Unless the DCRA or someone else is willing to pick up the tab for the missing shooters to get me out of the red at which point you can declare it to be anything you want, there's no way I'm going to lose a bunch of my own $ just to make the match happen. It's already the Western Canada F Class Championship. How does declaring it to be more make a difference? Ian has already recommended to many shooters on this board and others that if they have an interest in representing Canada in 2013 they should be at this match. Obviously there are not that many people who have such a desire. On another note, I'd bet that Ian doesn't have enough applicants to field a full team never mind hold selections.

If, on the other hand, you mean that declaring it a qualifier might mean more folks are interested and jump on board to register, I think that ship has sailed in terms of timing. In my opinion it's not fair or reasonable to declare it a qualifier with only 7 days left to sign up. That should have happened months ago if it was ever going to.

Prairie Guy

with all the questions that get asked on this Forum in regards to people wanting to build LONG RANGE Rifles capable of out to 1000 yards, I would HAVE THOUGHT there would have been more interest.....

Totally puzzled.

If I were not into shortrange and still trying to figure it out it may be worth the try for me. 6PPC with 68gr pills has a little(okay a lot) to be desired at 1000 yards.

Any registrations from the Brandon area??????????

I here there are enough 6 BR's being built around the Brandon area that someone would have entered from that area?????????

Calvin, there's not a single person from the Brandon or Westman area entered so far. Had a few enquiries but so far no one has signed up.
