2011 CGN Saskatchewan Gopher Shoot primer thread. Starts over at post 538.

Oh yeah! Had a good weekend! There are lots of gophers and with a few new locations scouted out I think we will be ok for a few days! Might need to send a few down the road to the neighbours, but we will see how it goes! We cut and chopped some firewood, so there is enough for a few days there already as it is.
There are also a couple deadfalls I dragged over with my Jeep, and more we can get if needed. The fields are dry and its all good to drive around...
The fields that were fallow last year are all seeded this year, so care will be required to make sure we dont drive on these fields and donn tromp too much of it down...If you arent sure if you are on crop then ask someone, tho i think it will be obvious to most of us!
The grass is fairly high, and I assume it will be higher by this weekend, so I hope you fools can shoot!
I left my Maul out so whoever gets there first can split some wood if they feel like it!!
NEW RULE FOR THIS YEAR: NO SHOOTING GOPHERS WITHING 200 METERS OF CAMP!!! We are trying to repopulate this are so that in future years if we have a shoot at this farm this will be close easy targets for some of our younger shooters!!
There is also a spot at the far west of the land where there is a trail and a "few gophers" I will see if I can flag off this area as well as I would like to leave these few to grow to a ####pile for future use
I also ask you all to toss a beer at Kelly, he has been putting in some extra hours cutting grass and splitting wood for us! Ernie has been up North working for our Uncle, so has been unable to pitch in. Ernie is supposed to be back on the 30th. Should be a fun weekend!!

Oh, and ware the SKEETERS!! One of the big ones dreagged off a COW this afternoon! 
*EDIT: Highway 1 is open BOTH directions now! Its still a slight bottle neck, but looks like they have been working hard!!!
Sure beats the moose infested highway 21 detour!!!! I missed hitting one by about 5 feet friday night

Well done C2K! Everyone will appreciate yours and Kelly's efforts. I'm not sure Ernie will be too happy about your whole repopulating conspiracy but we'll keep that between us.

Brekenshrekenfrackin wind is really starting to become annoying. 300 acres left to spray before I can roll down south, and I can't seem to get it done.

Hope the wind dries things out, flattens the tall grass and makes the squeeks deaf so they have to stand up real tall to hear. Have a great shoot everyone, see you next year (if they're any squeeks left. I may have to apply to shoot within the 200 yard safe zone

My dispatcher just tried to tell me that he doesn't have my holidays on record....I told him so? That's not my problem! I booked them before xmas last year!!!
Same here!! The boss family are going to the lake 'till MONDAY!!! 5 days folks!!! Now I can sleep in and leave in the morning instead of driving 1/2 the night.
I'm planting my tent by your camper.
Heya Dave. Glad to see you're going to make it again this year. Last year there was no-one willing to run the mile, with a full pack, rifle and a shotgun, back to camp to grab things.
I hear ya. I've been working 60-75 hours a week for the last month or so. My vacation time was definitely in question. Yesterday they started asking me to work more hours this week and next. Uh no. I also refused to give them my cell phone number.
Needless to say I am very much looking forward to this weekend.
On the bright side I only have about another 100 or so rounds to load. I'm so glad I bought that Chargemaster powder dispenser. I may never have got it all finished otherwise.
