Just to double check;
It is okay to arrive on Wednesday night, even without the event organizers present?
Is it okay with your cousin if I get there and set up, Captain? Wont be shooting, but if I leave on Thursday, I wont be getting there untill sometime in the afternoon.

Sofar Sat. 26th to July 2nd in Tompkins looks like there'll be no precip. That's a good thing. :)

I was posting the info about hwy 1 for the Alberta guys coming in. I sure hope it's a go, don't know what I'll do for that 5 days if it isn't.

oh, we're going. i've spent too much time and money not to. i will bring a canoe and shoot floaty gophers(aka coots) if it comes to it, but go we shall!!!

Mud ducks? That's illegal.

Reminds me of a story told by a fellow that is coming with me to the shoot. He's in his 50's now.

So, it was in the spring, when the mudhens couldn't fly yet, and there musta been 50 or 60 of 'em in this little slough maybe 40 yds across. We took our .22's and shot just about all of them. We might have been 12 or 13 years old then.
The neighbor saw all these dead ducks floating there and figgured the slough musta had bad water or something, cause the next day he had it fenced off from his cattle....Hahahahahahaha....

yesi know it's illegal, sarcasm doesn't work to well on the interweb.but have you ever noticed how they never fly away, just dive under? hence the name, floaty gophers.

So I am unable to come with my guest.....I have to attend my step sister's wedding which was bumped up a week to when this shoot is and its not something I can say no to:( Hope someone who wants to go can fill my spot it. Have fun guys, shoot safe.

UTAF

PS. put me down on the list for 2011....I will inform the family that weddings, births or w/e happens I will be going to it :p

We went and popped a few hundred gophers west of Winnipeg yesterday. Water, water everywhere but the fields were reasonably dry. Lots of gophers out too. We'll be at the shoot come hell of high water. Remember to bring your boots!

FYI, I talked to dad last night.. they had about 3" of rain at the shoot site, but the roads have dried up pretty good already. There is more rain in the forecast for sun-tue, but hopefully that will be the end of it till after the shoot weekend.

As of now I am still going, unless something drasticlly changes
