2011 CGN Saskatchewan gopher shoot. Thanks to everyone for coming!

If there is an open slot, I would like to come.

What range are most of these gophers being shot at? Sounds like a lot of you repeat customers are bringing out 204's, 223's, 22-250's, etc. I have a bone stock savage 17HMR, but I could probably borrow a 22-250 if that would be more appropriate. As for supplies, lumber is hard for me to transport, can't fit much in my little dodge neon. Let me know what else you need though and I will see what I can do. As it would be my first time out there, I don't want to become too invested before I know what to expect. If it turns out though that I can attend (pending official invitation, I know I have the time off and I only live 45 mins away) I can commit $50-$100 worth of building materials. And a hammer...

The range is what you make it, from 0 to 500yrds if you want. Most are taken at around 150. You would be fine with a HMR. I use one of those too when I run out on the .223. FYI my furthest kill on a gopher with mine is 250yrds... so you will be fine. The centrefires just make more red mist.. :D

We will have an official tally closer to the date....We cant have TOO many people...

Generators are ok...we just keep em away from the tenters :D

RED MISSSSSST!!!!!!!!!

What natural disaster you planning this year? 2 years ago it was snow, last year was flooding (or was it a tornado??)........what you got up your sleeves for excitement this year? plagues of locusts? LOL!!

My deck is starting to make weird noises. Little indian people from South America have started to gather around it and make offerings. My guess is by the time July 1st gets here it will open some kind of portal to another deminsion or maybe even a black hole. If I were a betting man I'd say my deck will eat the world by then so we won't have to worry about it.

50 gr vmax and 24 grs bench mark, this is a max load in my 222, and mid range load in my 223, and is stupidly accurate, plus benchmark meters so nicely...

Nicee sounds like a good start.

Once I got some rounds loaded up we should hit the gravel pit sometime. I didn't renew my selkirk membership this year

Yeah it is coming close pretty fast, gotta go find a tent soon. One with ample tie downs and good water proofing. Then park it right next to tarp city.

Will have to bring some bird shot for some in ya face red mist.

I'm trying to decide on which tent to bring this year myself. I have one that fits in the bed of my truck but it's pretty cramped. I have another that pops up like a hard on but I hate sleeping on the ground. I'd bring the mansion with again but I don't think it can handle another mild saskatchewan Summer.

Crap!
I just realized how close this is getting and I don't have a single round loaded yet. Better get to work on that!

We are trying to buy a trailer too. Hopefully we have one by then.
