2015 - My Black Rifle shoots sub-MOA groups all day long challenge! Revised Rules!

Don't know much about that ammoe but I'm betting that rifle will meet the challenge with some quality factory or even better some worked up reloads. Great shooting by the way

zmax is the same as vmax, its all i had that was quality in the 55 grain

i'll try again with some heavier black hills, which is what that barrel was built to shoot, sometime this fall.

I also saw this while at the range this morning, not the brightest guy in the forest...

This is the best I could go guys, i guess 4 out of 5 aint bad for a mediocre shooter like me.

Nice shooting Mike, looks like your good for the honourable mention board for now at least.

Cheers D

There's an often frequented game trail at the 300 yard line at my range... and big signs saying no hunting, haha. It's like they know...

You know I had to run up there shouting waving my arms like a maniac, up to the point where I could actually give the damn thing a kick in the behind till it bounced and left. Absolutely no fear of humans whatsoever.
Made me realize how out of shape I am.

Running out of time for this 2015 challenge. Just a few short weeks left!

I finished building my 18" SPR upper and was doing some load testing last week. Haven't been out on the long range in a while! So far, the new rifle looks like it has some potential.

I thought I had my scope zeroed but guess I not. My first group doesn't count as I my 5th shot was off the paper.

Unfortunately no time for shooting since I have gone from being the lowest man on the totem pole to damn near the highest man on the totem pole at work.

New position, new skills to master and little time to do it in.

Have fun everyone.

Thanks JP. Yeah, I was pleasantly impressed so far. Looks like 25gr might be my load. I'll have to do some fine tuning to see if it makes a difference. Like you, I think that was my last outdoor range session till spring. :p

Nice groups Trinimon...always start in the center.

25 gr of Varget is nice and fast, are you going to work up a milder load for it as well?

Bunch of Pansies! I'd go shooting in freezing rain at this point...haven't fired my handguns since beginning of May, BAHH HUMMBUG!!!!!!

LOl, good tip! I'll keep that in mind next time. I was just going to build a few loads around the 25gr for now. My bulk Hornady and Campro 55gr FMJs are loaded with 24gr Varget and seems to do a pretty decent job with the other ARs. I'll give those a try next time and see how they group with this upper.

Knock on wood, it's been pretty mild so far so ya never know. :)

I was hoping to manage to squeak in another and hopefully bump up a star before 2015 closed with a better optic, but unfortunately Black Friday let me down :( I can't wait to do a 2016 challenge though. I might try a new meets old - Black Rifle with cast bullets :)

This got me thinking, since Trinimon launched this famous Challenge, i have tried it many times and i did invest a lot of time and load devellopment on it, it was kind of the highlight of the 2015 season...

One thing i recall particuliary clearly, is that all challenge 5 targets sheet was always started in the right lower corner, the other bulleyes i cant recall the order...

A big thanks for starting this and looking foward to go even further in 2016... JP.
