.22 LR. How many rounds did you shoot in your life?

Tough question to answer. I know I'm at about 150,000 since the early 90's.

When I was young and single I worked at Wholesale sports in Edmonton while my girlfriend went to SAIT. Knowing my staf discount wouldn't last for ever, I bought a case (5000) every payday. Moved home at the end of that year with 75,000 rounds of Winchester hollow points, with some CFO mini mags mixed in.

That took 2 summers the shoot, and I'm sure I've done close to that much in the 15 years since I ran out of the original stock pile.

I wish I could still afford to stockpile like that!
 
Such a difficult thing to quantify... I started really shooting when I was 16, and I'm 30 now.

I think I can safely say that I have put enough atomized lead into the atmosphere to have been the direct source of at least one birth defect.
 
thats a hard one ive been shooting this round since i was about 2 or 3 thats about 16-17 years worth of shooting thousands a year for atleast 14 of those years all with one gun the cooey model 60 its one tough gun
 
In '03 '04 '05 I shot 3 cases each year. The gophers were out of control here and strychenine was not yet approved for use, so the only effective method was to shoot them.

After '05 I didn't pick up a 22 for 5 years- Just kinda grew tired of shooting them.

So I would guess somewhere south of 300,000 rounds, if I include the 10,000 or so rounds I would have shot between 11-21 years of age, and the 5000 or so since 2010.


I should clarify those were cases of 60 boxes of 525 federal bulk packs, so about 30000 rounds per case(or would that be called a crate?). Each of those years the local CO-OP would have a big sale in early april, I think at that time they were around $750.00 per case on sale. My dad and father-in-law bought most of the ammo I shot.

No failures? I'm impressed!

I once bought 2 cases of Aguilla in Haver Montana (early 90's. no legal issues at the time) for $80.00 a case. Out of that 10,000 only about 3000 actually fired. The rest were all duds.

I guess their Qc is much better now, but I just can't bring myself to buy it again.

Damn that would be frustrating! good thing they were cheap.
