I am happy with the groups that I am getting at 50 meters with my CZ 452 Lux and Leupold 3-9 X 33mm scope, I would like to move out to 100 meters but the scope is just not going to work at that range for me and my eyes.
I am thinking of a fixed scope and a different rifle and perhaps some different ammo, my CZ is happy with standard velocity ammo at 50 meters but maybe a bit more velocity would help at 100 meters.
I don't want to spend as much as I did on the CZ/Leupold combo but would like to wind up with a good shooter regardless of brand for about $600.
Am I dreaming or are there rifles and scopes that can shoot well at 100 meters for that kind of money?

standard velocity will work just fine out that far. I dared Dryfire to shoot his .22 out to 200 yards in one of our matches with appature sights and then wished I hadn't, he ended up with a higher score then the guys shooting centerfire with scopes, all of which were shooting prone.
He was averaging 2 inch groups at 200 with match ammo

What is wrong with the scope that will not work for 100 m shooting? What are you trying to achieve with it? I have killed gophers a fair bit over 100 yards, not to mention golf balls and pop cans out to 150 (with high success) with a casual rest and a cheap...I mean inexpensive 3-9 power. Won't set any records, in the BR community, but I am a plinker.

I find the sub-sonic stuff to be more consistent and does not suffer the trans-sonic instability to throw it off when it drops below the speed of sound. Especially at longer range. Of course a little more hold over is needed, but once dialed in it just works. I like using hash marks to compensate.

My eyes are on the other side of the curve so I need optics not only on the rifle but on my face, I would be happy with a one inch group at 100 meters for $600 or less can it be done I don't know this is, what I would like to know.
I think my bench-rest skills are in place although I could use a trigger job.

A .22LR with match ammo should work fine. Or if you feel you need a little more zip, try .17HMR. A CZ455 allows you to change barrels between .22LR, 17HMR, and 22WMR. For less money you can get a Savage. For seeing the target a little better get a scope with fine crosshairs and a little more magnification, like a 6 - 24.

If your near Calgary I invite you out to show me this golf balls at 150! Even pops at that range.

Standard velocity ammo is what you want for accurate distance shooting. The hv stuff looses some stability at 75ish yards. There us a reason target ammo is all under the speed of sound.

Fox Creek is a long way from Calgary. If you came up here I could show you. It's really not that exciting to watch. And sometimes you have to wait for me to miss 1/2 dozen times.
But then maybe I will land the next 6. Though that's more unlikely when they bounce or roll away.

Rather than a really big expensive scope, using a target with the right pattern, or a scope with the right reticle will help a lot.

For instance, many target rimfires are outfitted with an aperture sight, and the front with a ring that should perfectly bracket your target at the range that you want to shoot it at. When I was younger, my old gun club used Anschutz rifles with these type of sights. When you were shooting on, it was possible to stack the bullets into a pencil eraser size group at 25 meters.

I have a 2-7x32 Nikon that I just mounted on my 45-70. Strange as it might sound, it is labeled as a "slug hunter" scope, and the range compensating reticle has rings, that may bracket a bullseye target. Or make a target that can be bracketed in such a way. Some patterns like the diamond style are easier to sight on with a regular crosshair reticle.

One obstacle is also parallax. I believe most rimfire scopes are set at 50 or 75 yards (and probably not what you may need), and "big game" scopes are set at 150. You can mount your scope to where it gives you a little too much eye relief so that you will have to have your eye centered better to help eliminate that. Or pick up an adjustable objective scope and set it to 100. Some of the vintage scopes can be had pretty reasonably. I think I paid about $125 for a made in Japan Bushnell 6-24x with adjustable objective.

1 inch at 100 is a easy feat with indoor conditions...match ammo, high end equipment!!

you should attend some of our matches, everything from high end to off the shelve, 1 inch at 100 is the norm, it is the groups that are smaller then that that win

If your shooting a new norinco and federal bulk pack ammo then obviuously you don't stand a chance, a CZ or Savage with federal gold match and your getting pretty close to being in the ball park. Some of the Eley ammo sold in boxes for 8.oo a box of 50 and under will do it if mated to the right gun. Sk standard and SK rifle match are in the running, then you get into the higher end offerings

1 inch at 100 with 22LR. Don't think so. Maybe with a 1 shot group.

I typically get horizontal oval groups about 1.5" X 2.5" at 100 m out of my heavy barrell Savage Mk II, or my CZ 452 or my Winchester Wildcat heavy barrel using CCI Standard Velocity. The width of the groups is usually due to shifty wind.

The wind is definitely your biggest enemy. My brothers 17hmr is very accurate but the smallest wind will throw those tiny bullets all over the place. MOA is achievable with the right equipment and conditions. I've had 6 out of 10 shots touching at 50 yards with a savage mk2 .22lr so there is no reason other than wind that you couldn't accomplish moa at 100. Quality ammo is your friend

ill second (or third or fourth - whatever we are up too)
with my Savage BTVSS MKII 22 i have a 6x24 (i think) on it and i can put 10 rounds touching at 100.
but then the sun goes behind a cloud or a fly farts on his way by or the wind picks up 1km/hr and forget it.
it all about conditions.

what ive found over the last couple years now that im over the 40yr old hump on picking up speed is my eyes are no where near what they use to be.
so much so that i find that im swapping out most of my optics for bigger ones.
22's that i ran 3x9x40 on before im now running with 4x12 and 6x24.
im also finding that im fiddling around a lot more with scope placement.
that BTVSS i started with low rings and then medium now im running high just so i can get comfy with it (yes i know, high rings, all the cool kids laugh at me at the range because im not running the lowest rings on the market)
and i also found that i spent a good 2 range trips finding exactly where i needed the scope for distance from my eye.
it took a lot of work but now that i have it all set up its nice.

that said i shoot at a outside range so even with my nice gun and nice optics and higher end ammo at the end of the day im still at the mercy of the wind and elements.
what i wouldnt give to find a old decommissioned pig barn.....
