How would one hang a hammock?
I think I just sold my camper.

Maybe a hammock wouldn't be the brightest eye deer with the hewdlums
and their kocktales...........wood it now........?

Liable to bungie cord me in there and see how many loopylews it would take
to make me seesick.

You just show up 'Looky and we'll find a place to bed ya down. Got a couple mangers in the horse barn and a nice hay shed, tack room and then there is room for 4 in my yacht, in the shop.

I'll give ya credit for the first "coining" of the Penguin moniker, now that I see you learned how to spell it.

For all who read this.......... Let it be known that Kamlooky was the very first one to attach the name Penguin to the 23-6.5X55...........which stems from a previous thread I had on here a couple years ago about wanting to hunt penguins in Antarctica.
 
I was just reading about the hyrax (WHAT????) since I was wondering if that was not one of Kamlooky's aberrant spellings - perhaps he was describing the chest area of tall women or something - but I see that it is in fact an African mammal. Whose testes do not descend into a scrotum. So it has balls, but you can't see them. Perhaps this was the reason for the naming?

If that shoostinfest is in 2015 I have a chance of being there, given that I am planning to repeat my Great Western Road Trip of 2011 next year. But THIS time I want to shoot a Yukon moose, AND catch a halibut.

Good one Doug..........had to ponder that a minute and then dig way down in my Lookanese dictionary but got 'er figured !!

The 23 weekend will certainly not be before 2015.......we'll stay in touch and if we can arrange to accommodate your wanderings we certainly will.

Should the moniker represent a critter appropriate to the energy level of the cartridge??? Are Hyrax's abnormally tough little suckers? I know they are a distant relative of the elephant but a 10 pound 16th cousin...

And if there are any funds or supplies needed to help make the weekend happen count me in for that as well! Being as I am my own boss the only challenge I will face is surviving until the weekend happens. So far...so good.

Thanks Douglas. Depending on which of your places you are intending to host this gathering of the clan, I will try to make it. I should be in Keno City mid-September 2015, all things being equal, and BC before and after that. Should be a HOOT!

Sounds like quite an outing and opportunity. Do you have a specific time of year in mind?
 
This will definitely be at my BC property, north of Creston on the Kootenay Lake. Depending on Doug's time frame, next summer sometime. Looks as though August might work for Doug..........that gives me a little more than a year to get my ducks in a row and get everything made up. Should be doable.
Does the 23rd fall on a weekend by any chance..........how terribly apropos !! I just checked and sure enough 22 and 23 of Aug is a weekend.........

What's the general consensus on Aug 22-23 2015?

We'll have to make up some games to make it interesting...........every shooter throw in 5 bucks a cartridge and the best 5 shot group per cartridge takes that cartridge pot. All shot with the same rifles so it comes down to the shooter. Then maybe 5 balloons each at 100 mtrs for 5 shots offhand same 5 buck entry.........open to suggestions......Another good one is two balloons and the shot count to break both offhand with a maximum of 10 shots per shooter. That one kinda weeds the kiddies from the cowboys...........And I ain't talking no 12" balloons either 4-5" maybe, or maybe clay birds, but the wind doesn't affect them, which is what makes it fun and really levels the playing field and adds an element of luck to the outcome.

This is shaping up to be an EPIC event! :dancingbanana:

I personally could probably not make it quite that early in August. Our biggest Eastern Ontario Gun Show is the third weekend in August, in Eganville Ontario. It is one of the "must attend" shows for me, 14-16 August 2015, should have the rig headed west about the 18th or maybe 19th, I might be out of Ontario by the 23rd...........:rolleyes:

But I could still hopefully visit Douglas later on and then try my hand with well shot-in barrels! ;)

Well Doug if the 23rd don't work for you does the 30th work better, how about everyone else does the 29-30th work? I'd really like to try and include Doug in this event.............he's been a big proponent from the start. Johnn is that still good with you, d4d does that work ? And Johnn you gotta talk Potsy into coming with you............

Potsy used to work for me many years back and we were good friends as well, haven't seen him in 20 years. Apparently he coffees with Johnn and lives just around the corner, so to speak.

Offhand event with my 50 BMG...........

Buffalo event with my 45-110 Sharps loaded to the nuts..........

Possibilities are endless.......
