Sucks when the door got left opened.................aye?
Point taken 'Looky..........door closed and locked !!!!!
Sucks when the door got left opened.................aye?
And this from the man who advocates vehemently for the single most redundant cartridge in the world...............the .375 Imposter !!!!!
So my limited research and correspondingly limited brain power indicate that the Browning X bolt does NOT have a threaded barrel.
However, my research into the 1885 High Wall indicates they DO have a threaded barrel. See link below.

I would have just attached the picture but putting up pictures here is a pain in the keester.
So now to begin the search for a High Wall in a caliber suitable for a Lynx. Suggestions welcomed and higher intelligence appreciated.
Regards,
Dave.
This thread is about a family of 23 cal wildcats, which apparently has significant interest to some. If you're on board and have positive input and suggestions then by all means post away..........if you're just here to criticize and troll.......please move along.

This one made me laugh out loud!![]()
Not even gonna guess Johnn, but Id bet the 23/06 would make vapour out of the bullets with an 8 twist.
Personally the 08 case would be more than enough horse power, but that's just my opinion.
No doubt.... small things amuse small minds I guess.... its a truly unique cartridge created right here on cgn by a respected member.... based on history I dont expect you to respect that....
I know less about this stuff than most.... definitely yourself included.... but I am smart enough to know when something cool is happening and see it as a learning opportunity...
I didn't spell it out the reason I laughed as I thought it was obvious, but I guess not. I'll let you in on the joke:
There was a fair bit of trolling and criticism done by C-fbmi and especially by his merry yes-men on the 375 Ruger thread. Declaring this thread to be troll/critique free zone is laughable. There you have it...
Now onto the .23 caliber discussion.
These .23 caliber cartridges are entertaining, that's all. Every single case being used or proposed has at one time been necked to .24 caliber. Putting a .23 bullet into the case will result in a net difference of zero. They are not new cases, they don't fit into any different rifles that the .24 versions cannot, they aren't a new short fat like the WSM or a long beltless like a RUM, they are just .23 caliber, and that's all.
As I said on my first post, it's entertaining, and that's good enough reason to do anything. Like anybody else looking at this thread, I find it interesting to see rifles chambered for one of the more rare calibers out there. There will certainly be some cool factor in owning and hunting or competing with a .23 caliber rifle. But that doesn't change the facts, that there will be no practical difference, and all the cartridges proposed are redundant. Equally redundant as the .270 is, at the very least.![]()
I won't waste a long reply on this..... if you cant see the difference between creating something new and throwing a bunch of dancing bananas at a cartridge made to sell rifles by a manufacturer then that is your issue.....
23BR........![]()
Those are some serious outriggers..............do tell?
Awesome rifle Marshal !
Is it going to make an appearance at an F-class match ?
That picture has really got me thinking.... just happen to have a 40X that's doing very little at the present time..
