Are you sure H, cause I saw Jane Russell in an old western from I thought was the 30s maybe early 40s with The Duke. Marilyn was from the mid 50s early 60s and Lana was WWII era ..... at least that's what I thought I remembered...........
Not sure, just going from memory. But I was thinking, Mariyln worked in a factory in WW2 and I was thinking when Jane was so popular with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in the, "Road to----," series that was in the 1950s. I didn't know she was in shows before WW2.
Jane Russell's famous song, "East is east and west is west and the wrong one I have chose," was at its height of popularity in 1949, but that was from a western a year or so before.
I guess I'll get trashed for this, but I used to think Jane's were a little large to be really cute!
OK guys let's get back on track with some 234 family photos.....pick the one that tickles your fancy the best.
From left to right they are as follows......23-222 Rem Mag (204), 23-250, 234 Penguin (6.5X55), 23-243, 23-284 and then a couple "just 'cause I could" 23-06 and a 23 WSM.
Then here's a couple of the family with Marshal's sample bullets hot off the press.....left....90 gn RBT bonded hunting bullet....middle...100 gn FB bonded hunting bullet....right....90 gn ULD match bullet.
It's becoming a reality boys and girls! A full line of 23 cal hunting and match cartridges.
...the .23-250 is the ###iest of that lot...
I am loving the looks of that bonded 90g rebated BT.
23-06 eh? Hmm there's some good lapua brass out there for that one. Might get a few extra psi out of it if that's your thing and we all know it is....
What bbl contours are you going to be making up?[/QUOTE]
Sorry RoA, missed the question first time around.........all that talk about "sweater girls" and all, derailed my focus I guess.
Starting with a 1 1/4" blank, one can have pretty much what ever contour one wants.......initially I'll probably just shoot the full dia blank just to see how it performs and how the bullets work out. Saves a bunch of time in contouring if things aren't working for some reason. I'll probably just turn it true and parallel then crown it to start off. I have a thumbhole laminated stock already channeled for a full dia barrel of 28-30" so no big deal. Easy to knock it off and contour later if things go as planned.
Not fond of the 06 case really, much prefer the 284 case for the same capacity in a short action, or even in a long action if one wants a long throat and heavy bullets. I do believe Lapua and Norma make 6.5-284 cases which would be a perfect place to start if I didn't already have about 800 W-W 284 cases. They are a pain going down this small though as I have to neck ream and fire as a 6mm-284 then outside turn after the final step and anneal when its all done. This is what I've been doing for my 22-284, oh ya and then sort by 1 grain increments after doing the primer pockets and flash holes.
Please name 23-308 as 234 panda. I will have one in the future.
