Has anyone used a 25-06 loaded with a 120gr Grand Slam for moose? Anyother reccomendations.
)Charlie. Do you really need to shoot a moose with a 25-06?
It will get the job done for sure, but I'm sure you have a better choice in your safe. I have a .300 WM here you can use anytime.
Oh ya the 2506 should be perfect but why stop there, I bet you could get it done with a 22-250. Show the animal some respect and use a real gun. Why hunt our biggest game with a freakin pop gun? Flame all you want, I've hunted for 35 yrs with most calibers from fairly small to stupid big. Just because you can kill something with a given caliber doesn't make it a good choice.

There has been no doubt countless moose taken with the "quarter-bores", including the 25-35, 250 Savage, 257 Roberts, 25-06 and 257 Weatherby ... and I'm sure, even several of the smaller cartridges and calibers.
But the OP asked about the 25-06 with 120 gr. Speer GS's.....
Yes, I'm sure they'll work just fine, as would 115 Barnes TSX's, Nosler 120 Partitions and Swift 120 A-frames and likely other choices as well.
