25 Yard Freestyle Accuracy.....let's play a game.

Finally got some cooperative weather. This was shot with my 617. I know I can do better.

This target can be purchased from WallMart and it matches the dimentions of the one posted here.

I'll try again using the posted target as I found the colored bulls difficult to make out at 25.

Hey Montey,
you are doing great.
Don't get hung up on the color of the bulls eye. That's just a guide to give you a general direction on where to point the gun.

I'd bet you did not call the low eights. If you did then the following is just trivia. If you didn't then the following may be of interest.

Your focus has to on the, as close as possible, alignment between the front and the rear sight.

The bull is just a fuzzy dark spot in the far distance!!

As you aim, your sights will be hovering somewhere below that spot. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Now you start squeezing the trigger.

The instance the gun fires, you will know whether the front sight,in relation to the rear sight, was low, high, etc..., or whether your hover was to the left, right or somewhere in between.

And you will see it, because your focus was on the sights! That's when you are able to call the shots.

If you are able to keep your hovering to a minimum, and the sights aligned, the impact will be in the black.

If you hovering out of bounds, lower the gun, take a few deep breath and start again.

Keep having fun.

Actually, they where high eights. I hung the target upside down at the range:redface:

Will see if the solid black bull helps. I found the two tone bulls a bit of a distraction.

My old eye's ain't what they use to be. With the sights in focus the bull is really blurry and faint using the two tone target.

93 points on a standard 20 yard ISSF target, Unique DES 69. This was shot at center hold, I'm trying out 6 o'clock hold with the black sitting on top of my front post. I'm out of practice though, I've been shooting IDPA more lately. This winter I'll spend my time honing my bullseye skills again.

better look at the target:

Some impressive groups! You guys can shoot well. I admit I suck with HG's and would have a tough time hitting the broad side of a barn...from the inside:)

We have a new champ. Outstanding shooting elmo!

I've updated the original post. I didn't put that score down in the target pistol category, though it's not a service pistol. Should i have a service pistol category guys?

No,keep it simple. Your original setup is fine. A target pistol is a accurate high tech adjustable instrument, and everything else is a pistol. Just my opinion, tho.

I shot this a few weeks ago when practicing rapid fire (5 shots in 10 seconds 4 times so total 20 shots). So it scores 94 and half an X for 10shots.

This is one handed, I never shoot the Pardini two-handed it just screws up my grip.
