Actually, there are only 4 of you. One owner bought multiple barrels. Nobody has anything built yet, so the title of the first Canadian Krieger 5R rifle is up for grabs!

^Obtunded is probably best to answer that question. All I know is that ceriksson and mine are from the first batch. There were 4 shooters who bought 5r barrels from Ian at that time.

Took it out to 500yds this weekend and also found a 900yd spot that we're going to try on our next outing after I reload everything.

It was also my first time really using the iSnipe. It is a phenomenal program. It got me to within a couple clicks on my first shot (I think I over estimated my down angle the first time -- after rechecking the angle it calculated right where I ended up clicking to for a hit)

The target is a rock. Makes a nice satisfying *SMACK* when hit.

Man I love shooting long range. There is something so satisfying being able to look back down your scope and watching the bullet impact.

I'm still just really starting to get into it.. soooo addicting

Ok managed to get back to the range today with some actual loaded fireformed rounds.

Load was 46gr of H4831SC, CCI BR primers, 140gr Berger VLDs seated way out (OAL is longer because of the bullet shape. Cases were a split of Nosler custom 260 and Lapua 243.

Was a pretty dreary day as it started to sleet/snow on us. -1 with no wind so it was ok, but I think the wetness screwed with the chronograph sensors a bit so I don't completely trust the readings.

This was a pretty light load as I plan to build up in half grain increments with the same powder.

I have to say.. this gun shoots! after some sighters this thing grouped too easy.

I didn't fire too many rounds though. 11 total. 8 with the Lapua brass and 3 with the Nosler. I'm saving the rest for the 500 yards place up the road (weather permitting) sometime soon.

Lapua ones came out at an average of about 2800fps and the Nosler a bit slower at around 2770. HOWEVER... I shot the Noslers cased loads later and I noticed the chrony sensors had gotten more water on them by then so I don't completely trust the readings like I said.

Thanks to Ian (obtunded) for the barrel, swissswiss for the action, Jerry (mysticplayer) for the scope, rings and trigger, 50calshooter for the stock, Vern from the sillhouette shop in Duncan for fitting and bedding the stock, Rick for the dies, and most importantly Dennis (guntech) for the awesome smithwork of putting it all together! oh and all of you for paying your taxes so I can have a job! lol

Truly a CGN build!

Which range is this?

It goes out to 200yds.

The reason it can be a pain to get to is because you have to get past the copper canyon gate. It is open and manned on weekends and usually closes at about 1700. During the week it is open or closed depending on what kind of work is going on in the bush and can be closed on you without notice.

If you can get through the gate (no prob on weekends) then it isn't that hard to get to. It is a use at your own risk range. no staff or personnel. It is maintained by volunteers and target backing is hit and miss. I used to donate used pallets but since I no longer live in Nanaimo that source dried up.

There is also a 75yd range with setups at 25, 50 and 75yds with good backing.

They also recently installed a good archery range too with a proper arrow catching back.

It is a great range as there is no hassle when you get there and it is first come first served with the spots (though members get preference)

Good swimming hole in the river below too in the summer.

I cant seem to find it on google maps...is there a day pass fee? Are restricteds allowed?

Thanks
