Wow. 33 pages of reading. I might have to give it a try when I get things together. Where in Alberta are these shoots? Ill look at the other threads as well after this one. I have an AR being shipped out next week that should work well. I only have one handgun now which will work but I would have to find good reliable ammo as I was having trouble with the umc stuff last couple times I was out. It is a 1911 .45 but should get me going for now. Also have a collection of shotguns but all a pump or single shots. Pretty sure my holster will work fine but need a few extra things and to get shooting again. I have been out of the game for about 6 years and want to get back in.
You see table pickup starts often in IPSC, where the stage brief dictates all mags to be used are placed somewhere other than your person (a table, barrel, etc)
Sure you could put them in your mag pouches or pockets but why would you want to?
The magnet allows for picking up 1, 2, or even 3 mags in one hand and slapping them on your belt in one smooth motion, when you need them they are available to load quickly.
This is a good tutorial on the matter:
In a stage, how many rounds do you typically fire per gun? As in how many mags should a guy have on his LBV?
Also, see many guys compete with 1911, or is something that has a 10rd mag more desireable in competition?
