This thread brought back some memories. In 1988 we got a massve late spring snow storm, roads were all shut down, so was snowed in at the farm fo three days. But on day two the sun came out, and all the gophers tunelled to the surface, and were running around on top the snow.
So I set my 5 year old son up with my Bren gun, and a stack of 30rd mags, and he plinked away at gophers for half a day. Bren guns basically have no recoil, he could handle it no problem.
303 was so cheap at the time that shooting 500 rounds at a sitting was no big deal.
My how times have changed. No cheap 303, can't shoot a Bren gun, 30 round mags are a no-no, and would probably be reported for child endangerment, lol.
LOL, I to once had a Brengun and shooting at gophers with 30rd mags and mixed ball and tracer ammo was a truly pleasant experience that makes me smile when I think of itToo bad it is so forbidden now

If you had a Brengun drum mag that might be worth the effort but not for the 30rd mags pinned to 5rds.
Way to revive a 10 year old thread with "nice", lolNice
Nah PPU .303 is still available for 40$ a pack. Cheapest .308 is like 30$ a box. Not to much difference. PPU is not only the cheapest available .303 it's also the best.C'mon, Less than 2-days in. 303 is going for $80-100+ in my neighbourhoods. Much cheaper to buy something in .308 to get better choices of ammo. The 303s are going really cheap - in the $2-300 range BUT you'll PAY to feed 'em.
