350 Legend

First bit of 350L arrived in mail. Have some more ordered as well.

Plan is to zero with the cheap FMJ then do groupings with a selection of hunting ammo

Shot this 5 shot group at 100m today. This is with federal 180gr. To be honest im a bit choked shooting groups like this with my cheapest rifle (cva scout) and factory ammo when I have other custom rifles shooting custom handloads that shoot similar to this.

Aint that the truth. Those little sub $500 CVA's just flat out shoot.

Got back into town so was finally able to pick the gun up at the post office, and play gun Legos.

-Savage 110 Trail Hunter Lite in 350 Legend
-SPUHR Hunting 1" Rings
-Burris Fullfield 2-8x35

Finally had a range day to zero the Savage 110 in 350L. Had quite a few different boolats with me.

I really liked the super mild recoil and the Burris 2-8 will be great on this girl I think.

It seemed to like:

- 150gr Winchester Copper Impact
- 160gr Winchester Power Max Bonded
- 165gr Hornady FTX

Im new to the 350 legend also. Sure fun lite little stomper of a 35cal. Im impressed so far..

It's a great calibre. Definitely gonna use it this fall once I move back to Ontario. Seems like a great calibre for eastern rifle reasons and is cheap to shoot!

Literally all the rounds I shot were minute of deer lungs. So this Savage 110 doesn't seem too picky

Buddies daughter plugged a black bear. 175 ish yards, broad side entrance with barns 170 gr and lilgun powder.
Never found the bullet.

I'm sure lots of guys will show up to argue but with a halfway decent bullet .223 is completely suitable for deer. If you don't have to work under the 6mm cutoff it's a good option.

With the right bullet, with the right shot placement. These details become all the more critical when advocating light-for-quarry calibres. The last thing anyone educated in these matters wants is someone trying to bag a deer with a varmint bullet.
