I had a Federal Large Pistol primer fire in a Lee AutoPrime. Turned out it was one of those small primer cases. The primer blew a piece of brass into my gut, passing trough a flannel shirt.
Lee said I was lucky that the primer did not set off the other 100 primers in tray.
The Federal primers are more sensitive. This one was set off by crushing it - not hitting it. My loading bench chair is on wheels. The wheels fire federal primers when I roll over them. Never set off any other brand primer.
