.375 on deer? come on who would wanna haul one of those monsters through the bush?

Well,I guess I do.
Use a 375H&H and a 375/284 for deer hunting and I don't see anything wrong with it.There are a lot of people who use 300 and 7mm mags for deer hunting and find it acceptable but balk at a .375.???
Why wouldn't you "haul any of those monsters through the bush"for deer but it's acceptable to haul one for bears, same woods.

Remember Gatehouse I have seen your picture. Looks like your upper body strength sorta headed south towards the middle.

I know Gate wouldn't use the binos if he has a scope... it'a against the whole idea....
375 stainless steel? with a brake?, and a black thing surrounding it? what's next.... a remington? :runaway:  :p

Oh my God that it is a Remington and he's holding what's left of his mother in law.

:dancingbanana: But lack any mental faculties.:dancingbanana:

Every time you post you show that you have no clue about calibres and the bullets they shoot. Many larger calibres will do less meat damage than a regular old .270 or 30-06. I personally have seen it many times as I am sure many others have as well.

Spend less time trying to get your post count up and more time actually shooting. You will learn something in the end...

Some say the .375 Holland & Holland Magnum is our all time greatest big game cartridge. Others say it is neither fish nor fowl, too big for deer and too little for really big stuff. But one indisputable fact remains; The .375 H&H will drop a deer with less meat damage than a .270 and has probably accounted for more dangerous game up to the size of Cape Buffalo and elephant than any other large caliber cartridge.

It has less to do with Cal. and bullet choices than it does carring a 9-10 lb.+ rifle in the bush during deer season.

It is your choice to not carry a heavy rifle during hunting season. Your opinion means nothing, you have proved it many times.

This post had nothing to do with the weight of any particular rifle.

But lack any mental faculties.

So what is your logical resoning behind a post like that? Please explain your vast experiance shooting a .375 on deer.

I have no experience shooting a .375 on deer. I just wouldn't do it. I also wouldn't take a 12 ga on a grouse hunt. Just my opinion.

I have also shot hundreads of grouse with a 12 guage. I guess I should have asked you first. Might have changed my gun based on your opinion

Just let me have my choice.

You have your choice, and so does everyone else. if you dont like it, dont post. Very simple concept.

If you had actually shot anything with a .375 and had an opinion based on that it might be worth reading, but you dont.

Get my point :D

You must have esp - Knows all see's all how would you know what experience I've had with .375? I had a cz 602 in .375 that I took on a shotgun trade a few years back. Nice gun just to heavy and powerfull for my type of hunting.

My .375 is trim, light, and quick. It shoots like a varmint rifle, and with the appropriate bullet, will take any game in the world. It does the job of a .30-30, a 7mm magnum, a .338 Winchester, and a .416 Rigby all wrapped up in one neat package. I don't need any other rifle for big game.

My .375H&H probably weighs 10Ibs.and when I'm hunting I don't try to outrun deer with it.
The mentality this days goes towards superlight rifles, maybe because we are a fat nation. The fatter the hunter gets the lighter the rifle has to be.

Packing a heavy rifle is just a work out and people that complain about how heavy their rifles are should take a look at the unneccesary sh...t they pack around. Its all a matter of "how you look at it".
