.375 purchase assistance required

Obsolete: no longer in general use; fallen into disuse; no longer produced; out of date.

Those were the first few definitions that came up for the word "obsolete". The H&H, "obsolete"? Clearly...by definition...no.

Okay, more fun with words. Now, let's try...let's see now...Oh! I know! Let's try "questionable".

Questionable: of doubtful propriety or honesty; open to question or dispute; open to question as to being of the nature or value suggested; artificially presented.

Again, obviously not applicable to a discussion of the merits of the H&H cartridge...but definitely appropriate when referring to "The New Bling".

Ha ha that's funny!

Let me tell you something else that's positively hilarious, The biggest gun shop - (sales outlet) in the lower mainland haven't sold one single 375 Ruger - die set or box of ammunition in the last seven months (that includes the whole 2014 hunting season) - they tell me that they have zero call for them what so ever!

Now in the same period it's sold two dozen 375 H&H's (CZ's and Sakos) 43 boxes of ammo, five boxes of hornady brass (50 count) and seven die sets - not bad for an obsolete old cartridge!

so much for the BS been flung around here!

Misleading, of course.

You can't sell what you do not stock, and Wholesale Sports does not list the 375 Ruger. They have no 375 Ruger stock of any sort in Langley.

It's not a big surprise, as WSS is not well known for being very forward thinking.

Oh please, that's the diference between you and me old boy, I actually take the time to find out the real facts, then call BS on all your baseless nonsense about absolute cartridges etc.....

Please come back and continue this conversation, when you have concrete evidence to back up your nonsense!

Go easy on Clarkey olde boy. His ramblings are good natured and harmless. He knows the truth about the whole thing but likes to have fun with his "point" of view.

Best not to take it too serious like and fall into his trapping sessions. :)

Oh don't worry - I know Clarkey and his trapping sessions very well, I just throw facts out there to challenge the fiction he loves to peddle ... the days of taking him seriously about any topic, are long gone.

But thanks for the "heads up" - it's good to be reminded of these things from time to time.

I think Supercub has explained this whole pointless mess perfectly. It's all good fun, until someone loses an eye...or a rifle...:)

But, since we are currently squabbling over definitions of words...we could widen our circle of investigation just a smidge. Let's consider another word...a word spoken in hushed whispers around campfires and in darkened rooms...a word so diabolical that the mere mention of it is used to frighten small children and superstitious folk...a word that has stricken fear into the hearts of man since the dawn of time and continues to do so now, in the age of computers and goofy new marketing-driven cartridges. Supercub has drawn back the blinds of terror and confusion, causing our eyes to see, and his post has now forced me to confront this horrifying word, and to consider how it might apply to our friend Gate.

My hands shake as I type the word: T R O L.............no, I can't...I just can't!

The horror....the horror..........

You can call BS all you want, but the last time I went into the WSS in Langley (where your son works) and asked about 375 Ruger stuff I was told they don't have any.

Meanwhile, better run gun stores all over BC and Canada have been selling 375 Rugers, as they actually will stock these items. WSS being out of stock on inventory isn't exactly unheard of ......

The actual facts are- Sales of 375 Ruger rifles far surpassed Rugers expectations. Several more rifle companies have added the Ruger to their lineup. 375 Ruger rifles continue to sell very well.

And that's no BS

Fun as it is to see the usual guys froth at the mouth, everything I have said on this thread is accurate. H&H case design = obsolete ;)

But you are correct that one should not take the Intraweb too seriously. I don't. ;)

You should go back and read the thread. I have tried to keep it about rifles and cartridges, the usual derailers are the ones that want to make it about me. I'm very happy to just share opinions about guns, and I haven't got personal or rude. Unlike some.....

There have been several lists of rifle companies that have added the 375 Ruger posted here on Cgn as well as you can look them up yourself.

Phil Shoemaker reported early on how Rugers sales surpassed expectations. No reason for him to lie.

When I was in WSS last summer I bought 100 375 Ruger brass and two die sets, a Hornady and an RCBS set and while I was there looked at two 375 Ruger rifles gathering dust in the rack.
The dies and brass were all they had in stock at that time and the two Ruger 375s they had exhibited the typical Ruger lack of quality control which is why they probably were not selling.
The salesman hinted that they would probably offer a " good deal " to a potential buyer.
I admit to being a Ruger fan as I have several, but I was so disappointed that I went home and ordered a 1500 Howa Stainless 20" in 375 Ruger from Prophet River...... and it is a fine piece..

I'm actually a Ruger fan as well...at least, the older Rugers...but if I decide I want to shoot fat, short, ugly cartridges out of a fat, short, ugly gun, I think I'll wait for their next innovation. The 9.3x62 Mauser is far too long, too old and too non-cool for new-age hunters and shooters to really give it much thought...it needs an update! The recent trend to re-name it the 360 Wagner is a step in the right direction, but doesn't take it far enough.

I want a stubby little .360 Wagneruger!

Why don't you guys actually try to help the OP with his question and/or offer opinions about 375 rifles and cartridges?

Most of you don't have anything to offer other than to Blah blah blah about me. As interesting as you find me, it doesn't help the OP

Hmmmmm, NAAAAAAAAAA!! With a name addition like that, to my way of thinking, you run the risk of:puke: contamination from the 375 "New Bling". As the .366 Wagner, it stands alone and recognizes Teds contributions to rejuvenating and the use of this fine old calibre.
A timely post. A while, back when the posibility of unofficially renaming the 9.3x62 the .366 Wagner, I said I'd inquire into the possibility of getting some labels made up along that line. Self adhesive abels that could be attached to the plastic cartridge boxes we use for reloads. :)The printer just finished delivering them as we speak.

These were the two possibilities that were submitted and as there were no replys to my question of suggested changes, these are what I went with.
