With that said though the next question would be would I get rid of my 375 RUM and replace it with the reduced performance of the 375 Ruger?
Absolutely no way...
Sorry Gatehouse the 375 Ruger maybe good but it is definately not the new king...

It maybe a Queen but that is as close as it will ever get...![]()
so the 375 ruger is like a sissy version of the 375 H&H for pansified citified wanabe bigbore owners now am I getting this right?![]()
Wouldn't that be called the 375Winchester??Slightly more power than the 375-30-30 Winchester though![]()

I just don't get this velocity is bad argument. If that were the case why have a 300 WSM when a 308 is better. More speed/power is always better. .

Thats what I was waiting to hearIt feels very good- Jumps to your shoulder nicely and feels good to shoot
I bought these cases for $1.06 each. WSS lists 375 RUM brass at $1.09, and H&H at $ 0.80, so it's in the ball park. I htik that we will see a bit of a price reduction as it gets more popular.
I am drooling at the thought of a range report![]()
Once fired .375 ruger cases have been selling on ebay already. in the $.50 ea range i think. Seems like there's quite a bit of interest in this cartridge in the U.S.
A lot of us didn't buy-in to the short / ultra short / super short / ultra super short / BS. But the .375 Ruger might appeal to both traditionalists and the fad lovers. And it fits in a 30-06 length action so its going to be a natural for re-barrelling old betsy when she needs a facelift.
After a bit more thought I totally see the advantages of the 375 Ruger and may have to buy one to complement my 375 RUM...
My 375 RUM gives awesome performance but I use it more for longer range shooting situations whereas I would use a 375 Ruger for close in thick cover where shots would be max 200 yards.
What I'm saying is I can totally see the advantages of a shorter standard length bolt throw with a short 20" to 22" barrel.
I may have to buy myself another rifle/catridge combo...![]()
