There are reasons to have a safety factor though. Example, you fire a magazine full in rapid succession, reload and chamber a round, couple minutes later you fire that shell that has warmed up in the chamber, what is the pressure now?

There is a safety factor built in, how much of it you are willing to use is a personal choice. I'd pay $100 to know what pressure c-fbmi is running.

Hey MiG25 I just might take that 100 dollar bill from you, I've been dealing with Marshal on a pressure testing machine he bought a while ago, used it for his needs now doesn't need it any longer. I really think I NEED it, don't you?

Agreed 100%...If I wanted an improved 375 I would go to the 375 Dakota,,,at least its a guaranteed jump in velocity. My opinion of the Ruger is that it is almost on par with the H&H when handloaded. Also the 375 Taylor, (my buddy has one) and its a dandy round. The 375 Hawk, which is the 9.3x62 blown out a bit and necked up, works great if you want it in a lever gun,,ie...BLR

The Ruger will outperform the H&H when comparing factory or handloads. Not by much but it has more case capacity so it can hold more powder and has higher velocities. The Taylor has less capacity than both. All the Dakotas seem pretty good but are largely ignored for whatever reason.
 
My current 375 is a real powerhouse in a handy package, Winchester 94 Big Bore in 375 Winchester. The H&H and the 9.5x57 went down the road ages ago.
 
Not sure if this has been posted before, but Nosler has released data for the NEW KING. I don't have Noslers latest manual, so not sure when they published this info.

I have owned 2 375 Rugers.
The first, an Alaskan did everything it was supposed to do. Fed and extracted well. Liked the short barrel. Didn't like the Hogue stock. Poor fit for me. Felt clubby in the forearm. Sold it.
Bought an African a couple of years later. No issues with fit nor finish on the rifle. Stock fits me like a glove. Trigger breaks clean just a shade under 4#'s. Now have 5 reloads on some of the brass and no throwaways. I will keep this one.
I am seeing 108 FPS more with the 23" barrel over the 20" barrel with the same load.
I don't get cartridge bashing in general. If it goes bang, it's fun for me. Some cartridges won't see field use as they may not fit some of my criteria but they still get range time.

The NEW KING will do that with a 20" barrel. No problem. RL17 produces amazing velocities.
 
I bought my African back in 2008 and I traded for an Alaskan diamond back two years ago. I had two and I still have the African. No problems with either rifle and like both. Silly me for selling the Alaskan thought I needed something else. If Winchester comes out with a 375 Ruger, I will have one.
 
Speaking of Nosler, their Model 48 Outfitter and Model 48 Brush Country rifles are only available in one 375 caliber, the 375 Ruger, interesting......
