Were there any Browning hi powers chambered in. 380?...
The only calibers offered for the HP were 9mm Luger, 9x21 IMI, .40 S&W and the rather rare .30 Luger (7.65x21 Parabellum).
Interesting. i knew about 3 of those but not the 9x21. Who were they made for?
Didn't they come up with a DA/SA Hi-Power? Somewhere in the 80s? Or is my mind playing tricks on me? I've never seen one or heard about it since.
I think it was FN's entry into the US pistol trials which was won by Beretta.
PLEEEEZE tell me you kept the DA HiPower!! It was a cool looking gun! Not to mention a collector's item by now!Yes they did. Called the Browning Hi-Power BDA, a DA/SA 9x19/9x21 caliber pistol made in Herstal, Belgium for the US XM-9 pistol trials in the early 80's (I've owned one of these like 15 years ago). A couple more versions of the BDA: one was an early Sig P220 with the heel mag release chambered in 9mm, .38 Super and .45 ACP made by Sig Sauer in Germany with the Browning markings, the other was a variation of the Beretta M84 with a different safety mechanism and chambered in .380 (9mm Kurz) but manuf. by Beretta in Italy again with the Browning markings.
I have one of the BDA .380's and love it, 12/6 of course

Does the Glock trick of using a .40 mag in a 9mm Hi-Power work? And if so, how many rounds will it hold?
Nope, I have a .40 BHP and the feed lips on those mags are too wide for 9mm .... rounds pop right out.
