I had a nice big grizzly boar walking dead away from me a few(maybe10)years ago. I was carrying a big boar gun with 400 grain X bullets at 2500fps., I know they would have exited the chest from straight behind. I stalked behind him for a long time figuring at his lumber, he would eventually turn and I would get a side on shot. Well, he didn't, he swung with the road behind a high dirt bank. When I got around the bend he was nowhere to be seen. Strange feeling there to know a big grizzly is watching you looking for him. Anyway, I never did see him again and always have wondered if I should have tried that shot from straight behind. If the equipement is up to it, the Texas heart shot is another way to the vitals. I haven't done it, but I don't see why it's a bad shot.
On a deer hunt a lot of years ago a buddy of mine shot a whitetail on the run. It dropped stone dead on the crack of his 6.5x55. We never found a bullet hole on that deer except a tiny bit of blood coming from it's bum. It sure killed it though.
