5 round limit for long guns? OUCH!

I actually suspect that pistol calibre carbines is the exact reason why they are limiting all magazines to 10 rounds.

Effectively people were using the 10 round pistol mags as a loophole to get themselves a 10 round long gun - despite the long gun "5 round magazine" limit.

Whenever people push at loopholes there is a correction. This time it looks like they may have take it too far.

You should clarify your statement or do some homework. There is no 5 round limit in mags for long guns, per se. Can buy larger capacity than 5 round mags in quite a few calibers. There is a bunch of fine print in this and a lot more grey area that people misread.

I was using 13 round mags in my ruger PC- 9mm; legally as well. Like using 25 round mags in my 10-22's. There are legal ways.

What about tube fed mags on rimfires if you limit the tube to 5 long rifle rounds then you put in some shorts or cb caps now you are over the 5 shot limit again.

This will never happen, shotgun tubes, lever action tubes many varieties of boxed mags the bulk would be utterly impossible to modify, not to mention the destruction of the value. Don't forget their special people (the natives) many of them have the same guns we do, unless they get an exemption they will also be in the same boat. Logistical nightmare, will never happen, just using confusing language to sooth the media and appease the anti's. If they were to put in place ludicrous and unworkable magazine capacity requirements, those effected would just ignore on mass, then what? Hopefully soon the Turd will resign and we will get an election faster than the three years. Right now he is trying to do the legacy thing, and failing badly at it like he fails at everything.

California just does an exemption for tube mags. Tube mags with loading gates can also be plugged... as is already done in Canada for semi-auto shotguns with tube mags.

Like the CFO is going to be standing at the range enforcing a 5 count on a tube fed .22

F me .

EXACTLY! Who will police this "law" (the budget is not even there to allow for buying gas for regular police patrols by ANY police force anywhere in Canada at this moment, let alone a door-knocking schedule for private homes, or even ranges, to check mag capacities). Like all all bad laws, this one is best observed by simply ignoring it.

There's nothing about mag limits in the new bill. There's a new offense for turning a magazine into a prohibited device, but that's all I can see.

I'm really not sure wtf the Liberals are talking about with the 5rd limit but maybe this is one of those situations where they say they're going to do something that is already the law, assuming that those who don't know better will assume they're making meaningful changes? This certainly wouldn't be the first time (eg they were big on talking about background checks like 5 years ago even though those were already a thing)

There's a looming OIC announced on the table that speaks to magazines. Stay current my friend.

Let me start off by saying THIS IS NOT LAW YET. It was the first reading of a bill. Now do I believe it will get passed yes. But the next point is why are y’all so willing to just give up? Everything I have seen on here the past few days is just been everyone willingly accepting this. “How can we modify our guns to fit this new bill?” This is why this is happening in the first place. Canada just rolls over shows it’s yellow belly and accepts this. It’s mind blowing to me.

I guess at least "max 5" is unambiguous and easy to follow. Perhaps less complicated is needed.

I know the answer is somewhere in those links provided above; but can anyone
confirm if my newly purchased 25 round mags (Tenda & Al Flaherty's) for
my Mossberg Blaze .22 LR are or will be banned ? :ninja:

Planning to participate in Range day tomorrow, need to know before I go shootin...:d

thanks in advance !
