500 rounds of Winchester 22lr for $3.79!!!

I saw a thread about the 22 shorts and stopped off at our Walmart. There was exactly 1 brick of shorts there and they had ripped the top flap off for display. so I asked him to scan a little box. It came up at 3 something. Then he scanned the bar code on the brick and it was 10 bucks. He shrugged and I payed the 10 and was on my way.

Wallymart makes me laugh, went in to buy 30.06 ammo.....dude behind the counter proceded to tell me how much he shoots, long range tactical with 30.06, bought several of the Winchester silvertips and some of the regular Powermax ammo, guy priced it all as Powermax and I walked away with a deal that saved me at least 100 bucks! well, if he would have been focusing on his job instead of blabbing.....I don't feel sorry nor is it my job to tell them of their error! Once its sold, its sold!

Stopped by the same Can Tire again last night, no more on the shelf. A re-order tag is sitting in it's place.
I guess I got the last box or maybe another Gunnutz member beat me to it.

Canadian tire employees are morons i bought a battery and brakes and pads for a car. The brakes wouldnt fit so i brought them back and they refunded me for the battery instead of the brake pads. They paid for my brake job and then some. I knew the cashier screwed up as soon as she typed it in. I didnt even consider saying anything

Was at my local Canadian Tire last night picking up some Federal Bulk 22lr and as the employee was taking down my PAL info I noticed a single box of Winchester 22lr 500 count with a tag of $3.79.
I asked him to see it, told him that the price must not be accurate. He scans it and tells me it was. I explain the price must be for the sleeves of 50 packs inside the box. He checks again and says no the price is accurate. He even writes down the Canadian Tire product number on the side of the box in case there are any problems at the til.
Sure enough it scans at $3.79 at the til, the checkout girl remarks what a great deal that is in comparison to the federal, I agree, pay for my purchase, walk back to the truck the whole time expecting an employee to come stop me to explain the pricing error...nope.

Just like that Ikea commercial. START THE CAR!!! START THE CAR!!!
You should have asked for a rain check for 50 boxes ... Our local Zellers store had a 2 for 1 scotty electric downrigger special, they advertised it and sold out within hours and wrote rainchecks for a few guys who missed it. Which they honoured even though each one was a 500 dollar mistake in the customers favour .

Meanwhile, in the Excited States, the panic buying has pushed the price of ammo to stupid prices.
At the Full Auto event I was at last weekend, I heard that 500 round bricks were listed and sold for $100 on Gunbroker!

Ontario. It's the law here for ammo.

CT in my home town, ON also has what I call the "walk of shame". Once they are done recording the purchase/PAL, they escort you and the ammo from sporting goods to the register signalling to the cashier, all good! My CT records the PAL, ammo purchased but doesn't record address' anymore.

Thats when you should beat them to it, by saying "be a good lad and carry this to the counter for me, young fella."

Over here they stuck my two bricks into a red security bag, hand it to me. Finish my shopping, paid normally at cashier.

Some want more than just your PAL info to write down. The Wal-Mart in Cornwall also asks for your age and address. The TSC here wants your phone number on top of all that. Atleast Wal-Mart lets you walk around the store once you've bought the ammo at the sports counter...the CT here also escorts you to the door for anything in the locked cabinets (everything from ammunition to a paintball mask).

Some guys have all the luck.

I was checking out walmart the other day and they had about 10 500 count bricks of winchester wildcat sitting above a tag that said "Winchester .22 $13.99". I asked for 3 of them (i'm not that much of hoarder), and they wouldn't ring them in because the girl was signed off of the till, so someone had to carry them up to the front. When they rung then in, the price came up as $26.99. I said "Woah, wait a minute, the tag on the shelf said $13.99!" I was told the price was what they scanned at, and they wouldn't even follow their "scannign code fo prctice" rules that are posted right at every till. Needless to say I left without any .22 ammo.

I would have asked for a manager, then failing that taken a pic and emailed CT......

Specifically for that reason, I refused a purchase of ammo at that Walmart store, I wrote a nice letter to the Walmart manager, no response. The lady said, "I don't know where your buying your ammo, but they shouldn't sell it without ID with address". ?????

Nice score. I got an improperly marked box of Federal .303 at crappy tire recently. $12.99 instead of the usual $32 ridiculousness. They caught it, but they sold it to me anyway because it wasn't marked right. They sent someone back to make sure nothing else was marked wrong. I assured them that if there was any other improperly marked ammo there, I'd have it in my hand with me at the moment. :D
