50BMG with iron sites ...

I think it's lovely that the Inuit are using traditional hunting methods to hunt with and kill endangered species. LMFAO !!!!!!

I think it's lovely you sit in an suburban wasteland with not even a scrap of the native species present and feel entitled to judge, within easy reach of Costco. Otokiak will actually work his .50, unlike the vast majority of shooters, I salute him.

What type of finish on it? The seas ain't too kind to guns. But I like.

We should send mildcustom2 to pang.

Did I hit a nerve for you to get defensive and make assumptions? You people never cease to amaze me with your ignorance and how you post things on a public forum that the media will take and use against you and then I'm the bad guy for pointing it out.

I can see the headlines already. Canadian Military Sniper Rifle Manufacture Supplies Inuit With Artilery for Traditional Hunt of Endangered Species.

Wake up and think before you post this stuff.

Whoa folks. I asked for opinions & thoughts ... and if some wish to post opinions that aren't accepted by others so be it ... don't make this thread into a shizznat storm please. As for endangered species I know non that I hunt. ;)

I'm afraid you need to wake up and avoid derailing a good thread. Your comments are illustrating your ignorance, as nothing he hunts is endangered (check for yourself). It might also just happen to be the best tool for the job, and when you live where Otokiak does, beef from Costco isn't possible. So he wants to use a .50? Bloody wel good for him, it's a better job for it than 99% of range warriors will put theirs to.

I think you made the assumption when you said endangered w/o knowing that they aren't, or also calling him Inuit and arming with artillery. I think you poked a nerve with others. Also calling it Canadian military sniper rifle when hey open for sale to the public. What they're suppose to use only bows and arrows to hunt caribou and defend from bears and not allowed to adapt to modern society? Try being up there before ya start making stereotypical comments.

Makes his job easier I'm all for it.

And the lack of thought being put into your posts again proves how limited some of you are. My posts were intentionally not factual because the media doesn't give a crap about your facts only what they can put a spin on to sell a story but yet again you failed to comprehend the point.

The OP asked that this thread not be turned into a chit storm but if you two or anyone else continues to address my posts I will continue to reply as you are now the guilty ones of derailing.

Can't we all just get along? Smile folks ... some will like this rifle idea ... some will not ... it's all good! ;)

So .50's and guns the media finds scary should be hidden away, never used for anything real like hunting, and maybe even lets restrict them only to approved ranges and require paperwork to transport them...? It would prevent the risk of offending the out of touch in this country. A couple political parties are looking for help like yours.

For the rest of us, seeing a Canadian made rifle out to actual work and not just coveted is a wonderful thing, and far more of a justification of ownership than "Because I like it." You ask me to consider my opinions... I ask you to consider yours. Cheers bud.

She finally arrived and I got her at 4:30pm today ... cargo lads had a ton of stuff to pile thru to get her as we haven't had any flights for almost a week and things were backed up. I gotta say WOW & huge thanks to Ross & crew over at PGW as this thing is beautiful and rock solid. I will post pics once I've had a chance to shoot her & go hunt with her ... funny I got the rifle today only to leave tomorrow for a week and no chance to shoot her. HAHAHA dang!
