597 VTR - mini review + pics.

Yes I did but I put the shroud on and pushed the bushing down in after. After that horrible experience......its never coming off on the new one lol.....looks so simple in the pic too.
 
I was shown a VTR at the store today and after some talking, humming and hawing, i ended up getting one, stupid disease.

I got a Bushnell Trophy red dot for it as well.

Anyone know if you can swap the grip and that free float tube with AR-compatible replacement parts?

A quad rail, gucci grip and a collapsable butt stock might make that thing look pretty lethal. Gopher villages beware!:D
 
You dont want to try and take it apart. it is a royal pain in the butt. the back or front screws on the sides have to come out. and whoever did them at remington seems to like the torque wrench cuz those suckers are in there.
 
As far as the shroud bushing {read heaterhose} use a shot of WDF after the shroud is installed. Bushing slides into place real slick like. Yes the bushing is there for a reason, shoots way better with it in place.

Have you proved this with a shooting test, with and without the bushing?
I'm puzzled by the rationale of the bushing. Wouldn't the gun shoot better free floated, without the tubing?
 
i got the last one this morning from DANTE in montreal !

it's a blast !!!!!

+1 over all feeling
+1 rigidity
+1 fit
+1 mag release
+1 rail
+1 bull barrel

-1 finish ( colors don't match)
-1 staight stock ( better with colapsible stock)
-1 10 round mag ( sould be at lease 20 )
-1 30 round mag ( to long and plastic lips)

overall i'll feek my moded 10/22 for to moment !
 
anyone else have problems with there ejector? My buddy picked his up on monday, took it home, changed the stock, added a front rail for a fore grip, put on a red dot, and promptly discovered that the ejector was missing. Brand new, never fired. Apparently it fell out during shipping?!?
Tough to sell me on that sort of quality compared to my moded 10/22.
