Not that there’s anything wrong with the 6.5RM but why not go 6.5PRC, seems like a more logical choice....reasonably priced factory ammo readily available, a cpl more Brass companies making brass for it now, about a dozen rifle companies online also.

I reload, have lots of brass and a perfect M77 MKII stainless .350 Rem Mag donor... and I am matching it to a second M77 MKII stainless .350 Rem Mag... that is my rationale.

Oh yeh if your all set with components and such it’s a no brainer but I think the PRC is a more sensible route to go if your wanting a new 6.5 cartridge.....

PRC is much hype... you would be better off with a 6.5-284. But in the current comparison, the 6.5 RM predates the PRC by more than 50 years... it was just ahead of it's time.

Much hype ? I have one built and it’s a great cartridge, I also have couple 6.5-284 custom rifles and they are a great round also, need to do a little more load development with the PRC, RemingtonJim and I are off to the range right now with a bunch of 6.5s

"Much hype" is no knock on the cartridge, it is a statement that there are already other, older, existing cartridges doing the same thing. "NEW" sells... any supplier of consumer products will tell you that... just look at Apple.

RemingtonJim says trolling lol, 250 savage I think !!!

W T Hell ? did not ! LOL Yea its the 300 RCM - Range was closed when we got there so will go out later this week and shoot the the 6.5 CM - the 6.5-284 and the 6.5 PRC - Theres NO WAY the 6.5 284 is gonna " BEST " the 6.5 PRC - it JUST does NOT hold enough powder ! So the Lab RADAR will Tell the TRUE storey ! RJ

It's likely the 6.5-284 brass wont take the pressure the RCM brass will either.

Other than brass from different manufacturers, why would the Rem Mag brass be stronger than the others?

My experience with the number of firings between W-W .260, Norma 6.5X55, Hornady 6.5 CM (limited experience), Lapua 6.5-284 and R-P Rem Mag, and loose primer pockets and split necks etc... the R-P Rem Mag brass is tough... takes a heavy load and keeps on ticking... no experience with PRC brass, other than in it's original RCM form.
