Here is what I know for a fact. You can critique cases on what you can quantifiably measure. You can measure runout, you can measure cas thickness, capacity, headspace, and just about any other dimension you wish. But I can guarantee you Hoytcannon does not have the equipment to test which brass is “stronger”.

Do you have a better answer?

"Hoytcanon", not "Hoytcannon"... truth is truth.

None of us has the capacity to conclusively quantify "brass strength" regardless of equipment or methodology as there are significant variations from batch to batch within the same manufacturing facility... nevermind the differences between different manufacturers... it is all opinion, hopefully based on varying degrees of personal experience.

Peeeyeewww that’s just silly
I think the PRC is so much better especially in case design, it way more accurate than that old belted cartridge

Out with the old relics in with the new efficient cartridges Laugh2

This begs a few questions. Should barrel length be determined by how the rifle is used, or by it's bore size? How much accuracy can you exploit in the field from a light weight hunting rifle? Why would accuracy even be a point of consideration provided the rifle was accurate enough to do what was required of it? In terms of performance, given the typical round count per year for a typical hunting rifle, why would you think an efficient cartridge is in any way superior to an overbore cartridge? Objecting to overbore cartridges seems like a strange sentiment by someone who chooses a handle like Weatherby Fan, or do you consider the 6.5-300 Weatherby an efficient cartridge?
