"Hoytcanon", not "Hoytcannon"... truth is truth.

None of us has the capacity to conclusively quantify "brass strength" regardless of equipment or methodology as there are significant variations from batch to batch within the same manufacturing facility... nevermind the differences between different manufacturers... it is all opinion, hopefully based on varying degrees of personal experience.

Settle down you Boogers.
You 2 is about the only one's I'll agree with most days....:d

The few brass makers that make 6.5 RM probably only do one lot every several years, so it wouldn't be that complicated. :)

We are talking about comparing ALL brands of brass for ALL 6.5mm cartridges... it would be testing every lot from every company for every 6.5 cartridge... that is pretty complicated.

But, this is what you said. “If we are going to talk about brass strength re; pressure, the Rem Mag is going to kick butt.”

IME and IMO... just as with anything else said on CGN...

Hey, Chuck... how about you gather all the brass from all of the companies and bring it into your lab and prove me wrong... report back...

Without this testing, your assertion that the RM brass will absolutely be the strongest is just a guess. I thought that you may have had the results of some study, which would have actually been interesting.

It is not a guess... it is an opinion.

It is based on my personal experience, which is, of course, highly inconclusive and statistically unsupportable, due to flawed methodology and insufficient sample size... just like pretty much everything else said around here... including your own assertions.

The "Tri-fecta" (Bart/Gate/Chuck) seem to be quite intent on pinning me down (???)... so let me be clear again, because apparently you missed it... this is my OPINION, based on my EXPERIENCE.

And yet, I am quite comfortable to state that R-P 6.5/.350 RM brass is tough stuff and can take many firings with hot loads and keep on ticking... not all of the others are up to the same level of use... is there tougher brass? Who knows... I haven't used them all in every 6.5mm cartridge... I only stated what I currently have on hand and am using now... I have used much more in the past, but can't remember what I had for breakfast, so I am disinclined to loop anything else into my "opinion..." You also have a good day.

I'm on firing #5 or 6 on Hornady 6.5PRC brass, shooting 143's @ 2950 or 140's @ 3050. It's either tough brass, or the PRC just outperforms the 6.5RM at lower pressure. Opinion based on Experience

Good stuff... I am quite certain that your PRC is the best... or at least better than the 50+ year old 6.5 Rem Mag.

6.5 Rem is the 6.5 PRC half a century ahead of its time. It’s a round that should have become popular, just about the perfect recipe for a mountain hunting round, same for the PRC is true of course.

Ahhh... the voice of reason... merci.
