Get a 280AI and skip the wait. To be honest I think a 7mm is probably the least likely for the introduce but I could certainly be wrong.

I would like to see weatherby come out with a short action RPM preferably in 7mm. And chamber some rifles for it!

Someone else should, maybe kimber. Come out with a 30 cal version in a affordable gun. Team up with a brass maker to pump out reasonably priced brass. But unfortunately this will end up like the 284 did. Admired for its well thought out design. But be a commercial failure which is a shame.

When todbartell ran the numbers itd be a difference of 45fps between the 2. Doesn't really seem like something theyd bother to pursue when they're already selling the platform in 280ai.

Sure be Nice to see this cartridge in a Tikka or Winny or Ruger or ?? and Hornady and others producing ammo and brass for it so it gets out there and at a afordable price ! I think the cartridge is Easily able to obtain 3200 fps with a 140 gr er being a 82 gr case capactity ! jmo RJ

The case length is 2.570 and case capacity is 81gr H20 which is just a little more than what a 6.5WSM is and quite a bit more than a 6.5-06AI. If the brass turns out to be fairly decent stuff, this could be a pretty cool cartridge on a standard bolt face long action. Close to a 264 win mag, more than the saum ..

So i'm thinking of rechambering my Custom built HVA 6.5 -284 Norma - I have lots of barrel shank so a Easy Peezy job for a Good gunsmith like Gary Flach (GEF) RJ
