686-6 International

From my limited research (there is very limited info on these anyway), "International" 686 and "Target Champion" are not one and the same. "International" appears to be a stock 686 with a difference in appearance only. "Target Champion" is made exclusively for a German Distributer called "Wischo" for Europe distribution. Sort of TALO for North America. TC may (or may not) have their trigger worked on by Performance Centre. Both are available in Canada, but Canada TC's seem to have a different grip than the ones sold in Europe.

If someone familiar with Target Champion could comment on them it would be very helpful.

I picked up a Target Champion about 3 months ago now. What little info I could find was about the same as you described. I will say that I pulled the trigger on a stock 686 (new) and I have no doubt this TC trigger has been worked on a bit. Nice smooth DA and a crisp, "break like ice" SA. I read a in a couple different places about the barrel being a "match" barrel, however I'd take that with a grain of salt. It is a sweet shooter, shoots much better than me!

The Target Champion models from Europe come with Nill grips unlike the ones sold here in Canada.

I am fine with what I can see. But given the fact that here in Canada TC goes for a few Hundred $$$ more compare to stock 686, I Just want to make sure the internals, fit and finish, trigger....etc. are same as the European version. Logically, the answer should be yes, but quiet frankly, I have come to believe that S&W does not have much respect for their Canadian client base. So anything is possible. My opinion only.

View attachment 32779I thought the unfluted chamber only came on the 5 inch model. I got a new s&w talo ? Looks like yours except for the chamber. Well kinda I guess. I recently had the 5 inch model and now this. They both have very nice triggers.

i just bought the same revolver but i was trying to find a place a could buy a fluted cylinder to fit on it. Don't know if any of you have done so and how much does it cost?.
thanks

And congratulation for you new toy.

S&W have at least tailored some of their guns to meet our stupid gun laws...so they have some respect for the market.

New member here, can someone tell me in short form about the S & W lock up thing everyone is talking about. I still don't get what they have done to their firearms that some folks don't like. Appreciate it, thanks.
