How are the new bolts marked?
Also curious...

How are the new bolts marked?
Just wondering how to tell the difference between the newer and old bolts. I know mine is marked I want to think with an "e" but now I'll have to go look. Also is it the bolt or carrier or both that are marked?
Using my Google-Fu, I found this pic of what is supposedly the NEA 7.62x39.
If this is indeed so, I am impressed. Looks a lot beefier than every other x39 AR bolt (except of course the CMMG MK47, which is based of a .308 bolt).
).
I've ran about 500-ish rounds through mine now, all surplus: Chinese, LCW and Romanian. The Chinese doesn't group as well as eastern block.Does anybody have there yet? I am very interested in seeing some feedback, especially at substantial round counts and ran hard. (I know, easier said than done).
Any idea if either a 10" or 7" version (preferably 10) is in the works?
I really don't think so. The 7.5 and 10.5 inch uppers use pistol length gas tubes which apparently are pretty crumby with 7.62x39 sized rounds.

That's too bad, although 10.5 is often carbine length gas if it matters.
Well from what Ive gathered most of the companies are shifting ARs towards x39 and more will join. PWS CMMG and couple other ones including NEA definitely cheaper than .223
I bought a pws 7.75" in x39 and I'm loving it. Recoil is definitely harder than 556 but once you go through 500 rnds of cheap surplus not worrying about your wallet is well worth it.
