7.62x39 Enfield... My little quest...

So you don't have to guess on spec's. Google No4 7,62x39 or No 4 223 Enfield rifle owner's in Australia have been doing this already. The 7.62x39 ammo is banned there, so everyone is
converting them to 556. They found that the No4 is a better rifle to do this with than the No3.
I looked at all of this and found it interesting. The British also convert No4's to 556.

i wonder if an ejector that sits behind the inner mag and is attached inside the mag adaptor housing would be better than the bolt face style for feeding. it could be a spring operated lever that would be pushed out of the way when the bolt was closed, and pop up as the bolt opened

where did you come up with that info ive steve lee shooting sks's and such with surplus ammo at feral pigs none the less

Not everyone turned in their SKS rifles in Australia when they were banned. So, the Government banned the ammo. You can't own a semi-auto center fire rifle there anymore. Their rifle associations have information on the conversion's of enfields.

This is how I handled the ejector problem, only my spring loaded pin is on the left side of the action. As you can see in my video, (on my recent thread), it works like a charm.

That's a pretty sick project. Local gun smith and one of my buddies is building a "Kayak Enfield" cheap already sportedized. Made a custom stock which included a folding stock off a shotgun. It's actually pretty neat. I can only imagine both this and that project smashed together... would be pretty cool
