Do you mean a used LTR for $979 or do you mean brand new?

I picked up a 300WSM Rem700 in SPS, for $500 at Le Baron, I bought this to get the action, I have the SPS stock, it is fairly light, I am not sure I would want one like this on a my varmint, or tactical rifle. I look forward to seeing what the SPS stock will look like on these.

p.s. I have the stock in my gun locker if anyone wants one for a good deal:)
 
I contacted Russels and was told :

"We are waiting for the SPS varmit ( sometime in Apr-May) Retail is 619.99. The Tactical is not stocked, will sell for 950.00(this may not be avail until July-Aug)"


950$ for the SPS tactical? do you think he got mixed up with the XCR tactical?
 
What's with the X-Mark Pro trigger on the tactical model? It appears as if this is the rifle that I have been looking for.

Sounds like a lot of money to waste on a Remington:D , why not buy a better shooting Savage and have money left for rings and a bipod?

Or you could go all out and join the Marlin Tactical Club of Canada!:dancingbanana:

He must have mixed it up with something else, I have no idea what tho, the XCR should be a lot more. If that's what they're selling it for, that's quite a deal!!

I'm not sure what the exact differences are as details are still hard to come by. Think Presidents choice compared to a name brand. Remingtons SPS line, is their "budget" line...cheaper stocks, no fancy finishes, etc. But the actions are the same, so it's not like it's a piece of garbage, it just doesn't have all the bells and whistles.

Which one is the most tactical?

That sounds more like it. A little higher than I had hoped, but it could have been a lot worse!
 
what Twist is in the 243 Varmint? it might be a great rifle if the twist is fast enough

IMHO......this WholeSale is suck....I paid 550 for SPS Varmint at RussellSports...
in the USA SPS Varmint is priced at 460USD and SPS Tactical is priced at 500USD....
960 for SPS Tac - NO....better to get an LTR(has HS Stock and better trigger)......



for Jamie: the twist on SPS Varmint in .243 is 9 1/8" ........ :)
