So who is going to jump on the 7 PRC when it comes out?

Personally, I can't wait. SAAMI Approved, and it's between the 6.5 PRC and the .300 PRC in length.

Going to be a hammer shooting the 195s with better barrel life than the 28 nosler obviously. Hopefully Lapua and ADG produce it too, would suck to have only hornady brass...

Can't WAIT for WHAT ? :p Think about it a bit ! Yea TOO long for a short action and Well too short for a long action - NO point ! Theres LOTs of just as good or " Better " cartridges out there Now !

Sorry But its a Loser ! d:h: RJ

I'm only interested because I want to use my current rifle.

I have a Browning Xbolt 7mm rem mag in a mcmillan game scout. I've shot the barrel out and I was going to just rebarrel in 7 RM.

But the prc will fit my mags, and be able to load the 195 long. 7 RM wouldn't fit.

It should work Well then - Lenght wise - its a LITTLE Chunkier then the 7 Rem so hopefully it will feed OK - RJ
Who knows when brass will be available ?

The 7 PRC will work WELL for lenght in the browning x bolt rifle - Brass should be avail in the next few months and WF has a reamer ordered too - GEF (Gary Flack) does MOST of his rifle building for him ! RJ

I was either going to rebarrel for the 7 rem mag or make a shorter 7-300prc with neck turning and so on. I decided seating the bullet into the case a little more on the rem mag was worth it more than all the steps involved in making the wildcat. The cartridge they announced in 7 PRC is petty much perfect for what I want. So I'll wait for brass.

I'm set on it. It seems like it will be perfect for the 195s. It will be the new SAUM lol

I AGREE with you - Great Choice ! RJ

BUT he would be going backwards Dan - the 7 Rem Mag OUT PERFORMS the 7x61 Easily ! RJ

Not if you use the newer brass that has more internal capacity. I've owned multiple versions of both, there's really little difference ballistically. Sadly the 7x61 is pretty much a dead cartridge at this point. Shame too. - dan

Thanks lol. I hope it gets the support. I know there's better cartridges out there. But this seems to be an exceptional one for a long action to load long heavy bullets.

And this is where I think this cartridge will fall flat. Its a half-mm too big for the hipster manbun crowd, and if the same people who propelled 6.5CM and PRC to popularity don't also adopt this one I see this one going the same direction as the 7WSM and 7SAUM that have preceded it. I suspect it'll be hard to get components and even harder to get factory rifles in short order... Not that you can get components for stuff thats already on the market right now anyways... Kinda feels like bad timing to bring out a new 7mag that only barely beats the Rem Mag and also needs a long action?
