7mm PRC

My friend, I get 3075 fps from my rem mag with a 168 grain bullet, 26 inch barrel.

That's more than 150 fps faster than a 7x61 with an 8 grain heavier bullet. You can't say they're equal when you're comparing a 24 inch barrel to a 26 inch barrel. You don't need decades of experience to know that.

Also the 168 is a great hunting bullet as well. I've taken a bull elk with it and two moose. One big bull and a cow at 476 yards.

I'm still thinking 7 PRC.

As i stated, the majority of sporter rifles dont have 26" barrels. - dan

Have you used any Manson reamers ? or do you prefer JGS reamers ? RJ

I haven't used them but I have a reamer in 708 AI from manson.
I'm ordering another floating reamer holder from jgs so I figured I'd just order the reamer from them. I believe they are taking orders now for the 7 prc.

The Manson reamer looks top notch though. The grinds on it are great. And it's got the pilot bushing.

Was just reading about a 7mm-300 Norma Improved that looks interesting. - dan

Have a buddy stateside that runs one of those for long range coyote smashing. It's an impressive caliber. I kinda want to try one when it's time to rebarrel my .300NM which I'll grant is already lotsa fun slinging 220gr LRHTs at just shy of 3200 fps :)
