I'm reviving this thread to ask about observed barrel life and velocities, maybe even a range report?
Thanks!

From my testing and measuring..the 7WSM will not work with high B.C bullets in a SA . Way to much of the bullet is seated to function as a repeater..
Is there anyone with first hand knowledge with high B.C bullets..with a SA..that could chime in??
I may have to go with a LA..and that would knid of defeat the purpose for me..
You are right: any short action is badly handicapped in this way, with way too short a magazine-box; as all the heavyweight bullets are seated nearly halfway into the case, taking up much needed precious powder space in any of these shor magnum rounds. An 'intermediate size action would be the answer of wich I will have on in the works shortly, that can seat the long 180VLD's or even Accubonds out to 80 plus mm OAL.
i would go wsm because i think the 7saum is not long for this world!
ballistcally they are very simular.
I've been looking at 7mm-300 Saum since Norma makes the brass. The SAUM is shorter, and that gives it more options for bullets if you're feeding from a magazine.

I realize the Seekins system is slightly longer, but it is not as common either.
